Nuclear Reactor Recipes

  • Now, some of you can't even be bothered looking at the wiki for the nuclear reactor recipes. I have recieved many emails from my friends saying: How does this work? Its too hard!

    Note - :Iridium: Is actually advanced alloy - I have to use the Iridium Plate Sprite To replace it.Also, "[-]" Means that there should be nothing there in the recipes.
    Furthermore, :MFE-Transmitter: = Machine Block, and :Nuke TNT: = Reactor Chamber.

    Here Goes -
    Integrated Reactor Plating:

    [-]:Copper Ingot:[-]
    :Copper Ingot::Iridium::Copper Ingot: --> :Intergrated Plating:
    [-]:Copper Ingot:[-]

    When this is placed in the reactor, it can "Move" heat to the adjacent Coolant Cell's, or adjacent Reactor platings.
    However, when heat is shared to another Reactor Plating, they can not share any heat to other Reactor Platings.
    Integrated reactor platings also can hold 10,000 heat and can increase the life (Durability) of the reactor hull.

    Coolant Cells:

    Extractor
    :Water Cell: --> :Coolant Cell:

    Coolant cells can absorb heat from nearby Uranium cells. They can take up to 10,000 heat, and should be placed near a Integrated heat disperser to stop the overworked coolant cell from melting.Further more, they cool them selves by 20 heat per second (1 heat/tick).

    Uranium cells:

    Compressor
    :Uranium: --> :Uranium Ingot:

    (Shapeless Recipe)
    :Empty Cell::Uranium Ingot:[-]
    [-][-][-] --> :Uranium Cell:
    [-][-][-]

    Uranium cells are the things that fuel the nuclear reactor. when placed apart from each other,they produce 10 EU/t, and 9 heat/t.
    When 2 Uranium cells are placed together, they produce 40 EU/t total ; when uranium cells are placed together, the amount of uranium cells touching one is the number you times the amount of EU/t originally produced [Total] (10 EU/t)
    EG: 2x10 (2 uranium cells) = 20 20x2 = 40 EU/t.
    This also produces 39 heat. According to my research, the heat/t (With no cooling) is always 1 less than the EU/t.
    And so on...

    Integrated heat dispersers:

    :Copper Ingot::Advanced Circuit::Copper Ingot:

    :Coolant Cell::Intergrated Plating::Coolant Cell: --> :Intergrated Heat Dispenser:

    [-][-][-]

    These nifty components, when placed in reactor,Will try to make all the heat levels of the nearby coolant cells, Reactor platings and reactor hull the same, acting as an equaliser - Its a must have!

    Depleted uranium Cells:

    You get these rarely when a uranium cell decays (After 2hrs, 50 mins) while being in a reactor.

    Depleted isotope cells:
    (Shapeless Recipe)
    :Depleted Cell::Coal Dust:[-]
    [-][-][-] --> Depleted isotope cell
    [-][-][-]

    These are cells that can be recharged in a reactor when placed next to another uranium cell. This process is called breeding.
    Tip: The hotter the reactor is, the faster the cells will recharge - BE CAREFUL!
    If you need to monitor the heat level of a reactor, then download the Nuclear control addon: http://forum.industrial-craft.…page=Thread&threadID=5915

    Re-Enriched Uranium cells:

    Uses:

    (Shapeless recipe)

    :Enriched Cell::Coal Dust:[-]

    [-][-][-] --> :Uranium Cell:
    [-][-][-]

    Acquired when a Depleted isotope cell fully charges.

    Reactor chamber:

    :Iridium::Intergrated Heat Dispenser::Iridium:

    :Intergrated Plating::MFE-Transmitter::Intergrated Plating: --> :Nuke TNT:

    :Iridium::Intergrated Plating::Iridium:

    When attached to a reactor, it gives more room to make your config (inside). Up to 6 reactor chambers can be attached to a Nuclear reactor.
    You can click on a reactor chamber to open the Reactors GUI.In addition, these can cool the reactor by 2 Heat/t and increase the Maximum Reactor Heat by 1000 Each.

    The star of the show - Sorry, it can also be star of the blow...
    Reactors Produce energy by breaking down Uranium cells, and not surprisingly, are the best, yet most dangerous way to produce EU.
    When reactors reach about 10,000 Heat, they will explode, Inevitably. They explode with the power of 11.25 TNT blocks The Best way to deal with this is to use 2, or even 3 layers of Reinforced stone around the reactor.

    Reinforced Stone -
    :Coal Chunk: =Smooth stone
    :Iridium: = Advanced alloy

    :Coal Chunk::Coal Chunk::Coal Chunk:

    :Coal Chunk::Iridium::Coal Chunk: --> Reinforced stone (x8)

    :Coal Chunk::Coal Chunk::Coal Chunk:

    Any feedback is appreciated. :thumbup:

    In all honesty, the wiki is meant as a storage place for all sort informations. Like these ones. If your friends are too lazy to click simple images in the wiki (it's not like anything there is hard to find)...
    If we would start creating forum threads for every aspect of IC, the forum would be spammed tight within a few days.
