SMP Nano Saber bug

  • Hello to the peoples of IC2,

I recently set up a server with Buildcraft, Redpower2, Balkon's wepon mod, and IC2. I thought that i had set it up perfectly, but when i turn my nano saber on, it slides in and out of view, kind of like when one switches between items in their hotbar. I normally wouldn't mind something like that enough to start a thread, but when this happens, my nano saber loses it's charge within 3-5 seconds. Does anyone know what's wrong? (It's also a little distracting to have something stabbing back and forth when it takes up that much of my screen.)

  • have you made it normaly or just added with admin comand?
if just added add resourses and craft it)
Also try lappack it should charge nano)

  • I used admin commands to go into creative and get one, but oddly enough, it only seems to happen to the second person that joins the the server(If that's possible).

  • Hello all

First of all, I'd like to thank you for making this awesome mod! I got hooked by watching Direwolf20's Let's Play-videos on YouTube and now I would not be able to play Minecraft without it :)

Anyways, I am experiencing a similar bug as Hokoku; The sword is sliding in and out of view while it's selected, activating/deactivating itself constantly. Come to think of it, it looks like it's cycling through all its possible animations/functions?

This is happening on a server with Minecraft Forge 3.3.8.152 and the following mods:

    additionalpipes-server-3.2.0.3.jar
    AdvancedMachines_4.1_server.zip
    buildcraft-server-A-core-2.2.14.zip
    buildcraft-server-B-builders-2.2.14.zip

    DungeonPack 1.2.5 v5 Server.zip
    EE2ServerV1.4.6.6.jar
    IC2NuclearControl_server_v1.1.10.zip
    industrialcraft-2-server_1.97.jar

    WR-CBE Core-Server 1.2.2.3.zip
    WR-CBE RedPower-Server 1.2.2.1.zip

I have BuildCraft, IC2 and RedPower in common with Hokoku.

  • Ah, I forgot to mention I made my nano saber entirely from scratch. None of the materials were gathered using cheats.

EDIT: I just started my game up again, and I have a bit more detailed information: As soon as I select the nano saber, it just sits there doing nothing as it's supposed to. The bug only appear when I activate it; It makes the unequip-animation, equip-animation, activate-animation, deactivate-animation, rinse and repeat constantly. Hope this helps you :)

  • I haven't seen that bug myself in a while, but from what I remember, the solution was to drop your nanosabre and pick it up again (which is also the cure if you don't know what state it's in).

GENERATION (Pineapple + i): The first pineapple you see, copy it into your sig on any forum and add sqrt(-1) to the generation. Pineapple experiment.

  • I just tried dropping it and picking it up again, but to no avail. Funny thing is, it stays on, both visually and functionally, when it's lying on the ground. It does, however, not cycle through its different states when lying there.

  • you know what might help? someone go into multi MC, play on this server that your having the issue on, goto your hotbar, right click the multiMC icon, and click show console, highlight it alll(you cant do CTRL A), then right click it and click copy(CTRL C doesn't work). then goto pastebin.com and paste the log.

what that will do is tell the IC2 the whole problem if there is an error occuring. it will also tell you if you have any conflicts.

I have the exact same error in tekkit 3.1.2, both on singleplayer and my own multiplayer server (using hamachi). The nano saber, while off, behaves exactly as expected. Once switched on, it cycles through on, off, equipping and unequipping in no apparent order. I would attach a screenshot, but it would not properly demonstrate the error :) . Once, I managed to get the error to not occur, but I have no idea how :) . Also, if multiMC works as I think, the same effect could be achieved by starting minecraft through the command line, which I have tried, yielding no error message.
EDIT: Even while appearing to be off, the sword is still actually on, and still one-hits creepers, but the graphical problem is still very annoying, and a fix would be greatly appreciated.

FIX!!!!!: Go through a nether portal with the glitching sword on, and come back immediately. Fixed. EDIT: This fix is not entirely reliable, as I was able to implement it twice before it stopped working, including the time above when I didn't realize that it was the nether portal that had fixed the sword. I believe that the sword needs to appear on at the moment the travel completes, though this is nearly impossible to practically achieve.

First of all, we won't help tekkit users here. Tekkit is very bad coded and has it's own bugs which ic2 devs can't help.

And for ShamblerDK, you don't need NEI plugins on the server, it will most likely cause some sort of bug or crash.
