My First Actual CASUC Reactor

  • Hey guys. I was just messing around with the reactor planner when I discovered a decent little setup. Or I think so... It has an EFF of 3.83 so... Here's the link:

Please let me know if this reactor is good or bad or just ok. It's the first reactor that I actually designed that wasn't just a bunch of ice and a bunch of uranium so... yeah. Anyway, please reply, thanks! :Reactor:

  • Tell me how are you going to make the ice if you aren't using EE, compressing it is just too inefficient...
Improved it, more internal cooling and a lower cost

Eff 4 version, needs more ice though

You could run it with buckets, too(the mark II the planner shows doesn't mean anything, it just doesn't take all the cooling to account)

Your design wasn't outright horrible, but like always, less IHDs for the same effect=better. You could just consider dumping the cooling components alltogether, as it saves you less than 0,2 ice blocks/second.

  • Wow, the eff 4 is pretty good. I use advanced compressors and a golem machine. Works fine for me. But, as for my reactor... was it good for my first reactor that took me more than a few seconds to make...?

is that any good? It seems viable that I could compress 7 a second. With the advanced machines addon, that could be very easy.

    IM A n00b AND I KNOW IT!

  • I don't usually use more than a minute on a single design, but it really doesn't matter if you end up with a good design. You just linked my design, but I guess you meant this one, it's fine, but remember that you need 2 HV-transformers. How are you exactly making the snow? Snow golems don't work on 1.2.5.

  • You can make a 7x7x4 (smallest I could get with anti-overheat system) water (buckets) CASUC, 460EU/t, single chamber, no internal cooling and it only consumes 1EU/t (for the heat monitor).

Or you could make a 10x8x3 (again, smallest I could get) 820EU/t one.

    PS: Using RP5(!) and IC2.

  • I made a bucket CASUC that produces 1840EU/t, although it is 9x9x7. Quite certain that I also could squeeze in a anti-overheat system in the same space. And yep, snowmen do generate snow but only in taiga biomes, which are going to a pain to find.

Check out this awesome mod !

    Nice.

Snowmen do produce snow in other biomes than taiga, check in www.minecraftwiki.net.
