I have gotten around to using the Mining Laser. I have one small problem. I use Rei's minimap and it uses the M key. I can't find any controls of either one. How can I solve this.

If you press M with Reis installed it will bring up the menu for that in there there should be a button in the bottom left of the menu saying keyconfig you can change what the menu key is bound to in there.

I have solved this simple: just change Rei minimap button to J.

Well that worked for changing Rei's map but my M key still won't work for the Laser.
You need to HOLD the M button and press right mouse button. -
With laser in hand holding the M key down and right clicking, nothing happens except the laser fires.
That's very strange... What version of IC2 did you have?

They may have changed it then for probably the reason of it having key conflicts with other big mods a lot of people use I know Reis also puts the key to make a waypoint on C by default which is the key used by EE for a lot of secondary functions of items.

I moved rei's keys off to the number pad. they don't get used all that often, so they don't really need to be at figure tip.

...i don't know about you, but for me, the whole keyboard, including the numpad, is at fingertip.

First thing I do when I play with IC is replace Q and M bindings with each other. That way I can switch tool modes without moving my left hand out of WASD. EXTREMELY handy both for laser and jetpack.

Im a V person myself xD, But basically try rebinding the keys, move both from rei's and ic2, and then try and move back again. Sometimes key bindings are odd.. Also make sure to utilise the latest forge recommended
