I think it is not a really good design.
1. Efficiency should always be your first priority. EB is a little too low.
2. Too costly. There are many other designs out there that don't use diamond components.
3. Why another Component+Overclock Vent Checkerboard?

Can you send me your 1.4.6 minecraft with IC2 only, i'll finish my modpack, i just dunno how to do all of these things you say
1. It is illegal to upload a .minecraft folder
2. You better change your title, those things may not be really tolerated by the moderators -
First thing to note is that IC² is now on MC 1.4.6, and unless you will zip up a copy for MC 1.2.5 (you will end up with a black screen). Secondly, Forge has separated from ModLoader and ModLoaderMP, however mods using those can still be ran on Forge, but Forge mods cannot be ran on ML and MLMP. Using them together will cause crashes.
How to set up client:
1. Force Update to clear your minecraft.jar
2. Delete META-INF folder.
3. Download the latest Forge and drag the contents into the minecraft.jar. Do not delete the META-INF that comes with Forge.
4. Install Optifine by dragging its contents into the minecraft.jar (optional, but recommended)
5. Launch Minecraft
6. Close Minecraft
7. Install IC² by dragging its jar file to the mods folder.
8. ???
9. ProfitHow to set up LAN server
1. Finish setting up client
2. Launch Minecraft
3. In the world you want your LAN server to be in, open options and click Publish to LAN and select the necessary options.
4. ???
5. ProfitHow to set up dedicated server
1. Place the minecraft_server.jar in your Server Folder
2. Place Forge in the Server Folder. (DO NOT DRAG IT INTO YOUR SERVER JAR)
3. Run Forge. This will be how you run your server.
4. Close your server
4. Drag IC²'s jar file to the mods folder.
5. ???
6. Profit -
I've found that I can't craft a machine block. The common recipe for a machine block is an "empty circle" made of refined iron.
But if I try it, I craft a YELLOW PIPE WIRE (Item ID 4072) from BuildCraft, which is supposed to be crafted from a Assembly Table.I've tried to look for the Machine Block in Not Enough Items, but when I use the U key on the refined Iron, the machine block doesn't appear on the shaped crafting list. And if the search the block for it's name, I can't find it on the list.
What I think of, is how will I be able make machines from IC2 in a survival world?
I can't go into Creative always... and I'm not sure if this is caused by the beta. The configuration of BC was royally messed up once... you should update your IC2 and BC and regenerate their config file. Additionally, something to do with the RefIron & Steel thing with Railcraft may affect the crafting of certain IC2 objects that use refiron.

Would entirely devalue the use of electrical tools. Why? You may as well just craft a new pickaxe/treetap/wrench/whatever. Additionally, they are enchantable. They are meant to be unbreakable and are designed not to be repaired.
And free energy has been debatable for quite awhile, the current implementation to nerf them is to adjust the energy output to something ridiculously low like
- 0.01 EU/t for solars, wind and water
- 1 EU/t for geothermal generators
The "accumulate dust"/"requires maintenance" aspect has been mentioned before also. And a final way to disable anything and everything on servers is to install the Recipe Remover mod (server-side only) which, does what it sounds like, removes recipes. The clear advantage of this is to use greengens or electric tools as an admin/donator/contributor-only specialty, a spawn-village-powering mechanism or allowance for a special, harder recipe through trading at admin-designated spots (like you have to trade, e.g. 2 diamond blocks, 5 machine blocks and 2 electronic circuits for maybe a mining drill somewhere).Oh, and kudos to you to presenting your suggestion/idea in a clear and acceptable way unlike the majority of the others that inhabit this forum.

I'm just amazed that people can't figure out how to remove the last bits from a URL.
From [MC 1.4.6] Open Beta v1.112 you hover your mouse over links (people DO look at links before they click right?), and see that its on a Jenkins server, with just a particular build targeted in the link. So you remove the filename, and you can get to it easy enough from there.
But take it a step further. You remove everything but the base URL and you get http://ic2api.player.to:8080/ . But http://ic2api.player.to:8080/job/IC2_lf/ would be just as good, since it leads directly to the list of builds available.
Anyhow maybe I can bug RichardG in IRC to update the thread....
Hmm, thanks for the hint! I knew the link to the IC2_lf build list, but what does the IC2 build list with 700+ builds do?

If your transfering EU why not convert it into MJ (If you have BuildCraft of course) then use teleport conductive pipes, Then turn it back into EU once you've reached your destination.
Those are cheaty ways to convert EU, another cheaty way is using Enderchests to store filled lapotrons and empty lapotrons with MFSU's to empty them. Otherwise, use crystal portals to transfer MFSU carts.
Additionally, phased conductive pipes are laggy, unofficially updated only and useless to me as I use redstone energy conduits.

Anti-Wall O' Text Spoiler ahead!
Oh, I thought that by the title of the thread that the OP made a CraftGuide plugin for IC2. IC2 used to have a CraftGuide plugin, indeed, one built right into the mod. It was rubbish, and when I made a bug report about a messed up recipe, I got brushed off by a IC2 dev. No biggy, the plugin was faulty before they integrated it, and honestly, I thought they had the guy who made it working on it still. Guess not.
Now while CraftGuide is nice(it helps when you want to find crafting recipes without needing to look outside the game), it's kind of outdated. NEI is somewhat complex, and while I have yet to find a way to go back one recipe lookup step and not just look at what a ingredient in the craft can be used for(my failing, not ChickenBones), it's easier to use(yes, easier, in CraftGuide it's hard to figure out how to turn off one type of recipe, and if something you also want to look up uses a disabled recipe type, you have to go through it's hellish GUI to turn back on that kind of recipe). One can even imprint a crafting recipe into a crafting table with it(not sure about Project Tables, but then again, one can save a crafting recipe in a project table and output it to other ones just fine with that new feature).Yes, one can use NEI to cheat. But if you have cheats enabled(which I always do because I have yet to find a way to turn off mob griefing and keeping my inventory without "cheats"), you could give yourself any item and change game modes as well without NEI. So NEI doesn't really allow cheating, Vanilla does. It just makes it easier. Not a big deal to me.
In a nutshell, this whole thread is a waste of forum data space in my opinion. Yes, CraftGuide is updated. If you prefer CraftGuide to NEI, go ahead and use it. Keep in mind that Many mods have NEI add ons now, even if they are kind of faulty(IC2 has one built in as well, but IIRC some burn values are messed up), and CraftGuide isn't as well supported as NEI, because many mods use Different Crafting Systems, so one can't just insert CraftGuide and see how to craft everything in a complex setup.(point in case, place CraftGuide in a FTB setup and try to find every recipe for every time in CraftGuide. You'll be missing some Forestry Recipes at the very least)
Tl;Dr? I believe OP lied to me with his thread name. There is no CraftGuide IC2 add on in this thread, so in my frank and honest opinion, OP failed to deliver what his thread name promised. You can enable cheats for a short while by turning off cheats --> opening to LAN and setting to cheats --> do whatever you want --> turn it back off.

Sorry for the necro, but there is a new update with many improvements out!
Awesome! With GregTech support?
-
%appdata%\.minecraft\configs\gregtech.cfg (something like that, if you're using Windows)
Nope, it was moved recently to \config\GregTech\ and split into 4 parts.

grab yourself Logistic pipes and set them to extract cells
add a hopper on the reactor and set LP to supply hopper with depleted cells
got yourself a cool reactorLogipipes aren't that great as compared to RP2 Managers... and the version out now is actually a third-party release.

Hello! Can I somehow disable jetpacks and mining lasers craft? (on server)
I think these things too cheap for they power.
Thanks.Use >>this mod<< (your players will not need to install it):
If you want a mining laser with an alternative, harder recipe, you can check out GregTech, which also nerfs a lot of other things. (all can be configured).

Spambot identified - name: deeksha
"Report" executed...
Waiting for Banhammer... -
Transmitting via ULV may cause lag, actually. I used Advanced Solar Panels' Quantum Gen for my Test World and emitted about 131k EU through 32 EU-p and my FPS was quartered as compared to emitting via 512 EU-p.

You can press the "Report" button on the bottom right to report them for being spambots.

@Above: This mod is for IC2 v1.106 (For MC 1.3.2), not for IC2 v1.112 (For MC 1.4.6). And inb4 you ask, no, F4113nb345t is not going to update to an open beta.

Hmm, for manual mining for me it is
Wooden Pick --> Stone Pick --> Iron Pick (or Bronze if short on Iron) --> Ruby Pick --> Nether --> Diamond Drill + Rockcutter --> Fortune III Pick --> Imma Firing Ma Lazor
Have to say I was lucky today, managed to get a Fortune 3 on a pick on my first try (30 levels).

Again, the recommended workaround is NOT to have Logistics Pipes insert the battery into an autocrafting table at all! ACTs will happily use items out of adjacent chests, and satellite pipes let you redirect the batteries into an adjacent chest, which is the workaround already mentioned.
Or better yet, use Tubestuff Auto-crafting Table Mk. II which has an internal buffer, or Electric Crafting Tables from GregTech for the same experience but with more functions and energy cost!

Wouldn't having quad uranium cells create more heat than the previous single uranium cell and the single uranium cell gave an energy output as much as the quad uranium cell?.Quad Uranium Cells produce more heat than the single uranium cell, yes that is true. (96 hps vs. 4 hps)
Quad Uranium Cells produce the same amount of energy than the single uranium cell. No, that is false, 1xQuad Uranium Cell produces 60 EU/t while the single uranium cell produces 5 EU/t.Quad Uranium Cells can attain a higher efficiency than single uranium cells too (7 vs. 5)

What was the last version that had the old reactors? Does anybody know?
IndustrialCraft² version: v1.103 (For Minecraft 1.2.5)</big>
