well, as the author don't release update for open beta version, I guess you have to wait until a long time before the official IC2 for 1.4.5 is out and then this mod will be updated during that time

Advanced Windmills ? That could just be one RP2-Windmill + Generator and you would put some Iron/Carbon Plate/some others materials with different efficienty instead of String-based things ...
If this was Gregtech I would also have suggest some generator more based on Aluminum/others ressources but ...

1- Putting wood in the Gasser.
2- Centrifuging WoodGas cells with GregTech.
3-Burning Methane into a WindGas Turbine.
4-Burning Charcoal into a SlagGenerator.
As for bug, I also remember the version from october was also bugged for the SlagGen: I felt like GregTech Fuel-Cans could feed it for 10 minutes ^^.

Nope. It doesn't generate scrap when burning scrap, but if you burn scrapbox, then it does. Downloaded it today. So Nope, the problem does exist.
