You can use them for a distillation tower, or a fusion reactor way later on.
Distillation tower is pointless really, as there are cheaper alternatives which you have by then. Fussion is WAAAAYYY too long away from not even having tungsten. -
I think its more of a tech progression thing, so that you have to use advanced casings on the blast furnace for a bit before you can use just 10 standard casings, 24 reinforced, and the coil upgrades to get the 3000K.Though if I were to think of another reason it would be that the coils have to be formed a certain way that requires them to be ran through a blast furnace.
You get left with 15 advanced machine casings though. Minus 6 for the vacuum freezer, 10. Not enough for any other multiblock. -
Does anyone see the logic why Kanthal Heating Coils, "standard" as the tool tip calls them, needs a blast furnace with 15 advanced machine casings, while Nichrome Heating Coils, "advanced", only need a furnace? Shouldn't it be the other way round?

Galactricraft has been broken since experimental IC2. It's not just the API, every machine will crash you and keep doing it until you world edit them out.

Why not? Everyone knows everyone else wants emerald and obsidian tools. Some want glowstone too. Mekanism is basically a mod answering those requests, except emerald.

Scrap boxes should be easier to make, and more appealing for weird drops. No Gregtech style iridium needing machine to make them!

So I have to apologize, I thought you were telling us to get better at making scrap and I snapped at you.
The problem is scrap's value is so tiny now relative to the amount of power required that no reasonable number of farms matters. Also making scrap farms requires a large investment of time and a certain knowledge of game mechanics that beginners often don't have. IC is supposed to be about enriching the minecraft world with technology, not seeing how hard you can exploit game mechanics.

scrap and energy are still very easy to generate in massive amounts, even for those who doesnt play 24 h per day.
Use your mind and reactors for quick power, then overclocked recyclers for quick scrap.
With Gregtech though, how do you get 4.5 million blocks that aren't cobble? -

Efficiency (EU): 2 of 2Diamonds are for the rich. Normal vents and overclocked is the way to go. The only diamond needed here could be replace with an overclocked too
