Would be OP in the nether.
I'd rather stick to the bucket filler, by pigalot. It's a less shenanigansy way to deal with it.
And it saves Al some workIt's just my 2 cents

Bukkit should have improved Notch's work, expanding it, not revamping it entirely.
I also found it a weird system. -
One thing, bukkit is never meant to mod MC at all. Sure it has a plugin-framework, but it's never meant to alter MC itself.
And, it's not Alblakas faulth. Bringing IC to bukkit would require a sub-framework (itemcraft and the like).
That has a bit impact on performance. And when the creator of said sub-framework stops development, IC is halted too. Same story with the MCP.Even more, bukkit is a whole new system. Alblaka wouldn miss some hooks for code. Don't forget that, server software =/= Client software.
Sure it is possible with few workarounds. But in the end it's just not very worth it. Notch should get to work and get a generic framework for modding first instead of beating us to death with mushrooms.
Sure i would love to see IC on bukkit, but the systems are just too different. For example, plugins wouldnt merge well with MC forge or even more blockIDs alone.
My final word is: It would be nice, but the priorities are elsewhere at the moment.
(alblaka, feel free to bash me across the jaw in-case I lied. But imo this is about the situation)EDIT: Feanturi has a very nice adminicy mod for vanilla MC server. Try it, it made me drop bukkit entirely for Cmodding.
Btw, Ablaka shouldn't be responsible for another ones work.SecBTW: One of the nicest things about MC is creativity. Think farther then plain plugin>IC. For example, think plugin>[bypass creation]>IC. Believe me, I have worked around a lot of problems using a different mindset.

YES, YES!
Thanks ALOT Feanturi :3
The only reason i would still 'try' to use bukkit where admin-shenanigan-commands.
Really appreciatedGood Luck and thanks again.

I usually cram my Minecraft until I hit the limit.
For the most time SMP mods as i rather play with friends.
It usually differs, but mods like buildcraft, IC, Redpower and MineFactory are standard tools of the trade.
I have looked at BTW, and it seems fairly nice, given the way flowerchild interacts with the environment instead of direct approach with their mechanics.
Further, I just try to get as much content inside a jar file as humanly possible.
Be it Balkons Weaponmod, or stuff from Flan, or other, often smaller mods.
It seems Forge doesn't like IC's fd.class. Player info i guess ^^.
So until IC2 has smp, my pvs will probably stick with what we now have. -
Seeing how involved Shockah is with minecraft modding development. I'm pretty sure he already heard about it.
OT: it seems interesting, but new items aside, it's just floating landmasses. There are ways to get floating landmasses yourself.
In short, the aether seems interesting to try, but I have other priorities -
Excuse me, but is it possible that you made a typo in the whitelist?
After 2 days I still get the message.
Again sorry for asking such redundant question.
IGN: 'XenoForce' -
What version of Forge are you using?
-
I would like to check out your server. I haven't been to any large IC/BC Server yet and look forward to the experience.
My IGN is Xenoforce
My History is small.
I haven't been on large official server at all, i prefer to keep thing in a small group. I administrate a semi-large server.
And I never caused problems I didn't immediately solve. Mistakes happen, sometimes for fun, sometimes on accident, solving them is the distinction between troublemakers and good players. Thanks in advance.
btw:
Quotelevent when u get on please do a hard reset i cant get on
Can't u use VNC to acces it?
Nvm that, i just noticed the windows 7 OS. If I may ask, why use win7 as server software? It's meant to be a feature-rich OS for desktop applications. I think you can increase you performance a lot by installing CentOS or equalevant.
This also gives you the ability to use VNC. This allows you to access the server-internals from anywhere across the globe. -
Yes, it's even in the FAQ:
- Question: Can we have cars?
Answer: NO

I'd like to check it out too fean

Hello, I am known by multiple names
Max-o-l, which was my old gamertag and XenoForce, my current one.I have played Minecraft since it was just out of infdev, about the first version of Alpha, and aside from the many bugs, i loved the game.
But not as much as Starcraft II ^^.
Further hobbies include Archery (yay Feanturi, win&win bow :D), VFX and gaming.
I run an expensive server with a team of 3 other admins. We took over the legacy server (in name) after the old admin Spiritax, was tired of all those kids that bitched around on the server.
Nowadays i also run a smaller, semi-private one with random mods. Depends on what kind of game we wanna play.Anyway, I gotta say one thing that i like the most about Industrialcraft, and that is it's dev, Alblaka, i simply like the way he handles the 'main crowd' on MCF. Like the way he did with the hidden download page, with the arrows >>>Download<<<.
If any questions remain, feel free to ask them.
EDIT: I'm the first person that guessed Alblaka's name ^^.

Or use a bin where you put dirt in. Over long time, this turns into fertilizer.
-
For a wrench that never fails. You could give the Admin-tool of godlike banhammoring 9000+1 that ability.
-
Hello fellow industrializers,
This mod has been giving MC a very fun twist, but...
There is one thing completely bugging me, and that is the horrible sound you get when mining sound or dirt with a drill. That is because the sound effect is trigger upon block.break event. And, it sounds like a toothbrush.
Can we not make the sound play when you actually use the drill?
I have made a very small example of other do-able things, like igniting a nuke.
It's just one of the many options. And machines should actually make a constant buzz/noise. Dunno if it's possible but you could also make walls negate the noise.Anyway, here's a small thing i made for just the nuke, as an example.

In my opinion, having a few good sound effects on their right place can really polish up IC.
I hope you will consider this,Let me know what you think about this.

Not necessarily, you can just power a block from the outside, remove the redstone torch, and move through. Sure it's not the most elegant way to do it, but it works. Else, i'm sure there's another mod that allows remote controlled redstone input.

Could the density of the smoke be defined by a damage value?
Nvm, it can. Different densities of smoke would just be nicer than a suddenly appearing black blocky cloud.
