So I got another little question , The case comes with a fan mounted in the top rear. Should I keep it there, or would it be better suited to being mounted in the bottom front?

Complain to notch.
His mushrooms dont grow on Mushroom blocks, only on dirt, grass and mycelium.Or jeb that is, as Notch seems to almost completely dropped minecraft. I new he would as soon as he releases the full minecraft.
And alblaka, your post above mine is the 1,999! Make the 2000 count!

Incorrect, the videos are fake.
First of all, TNT damage does not stack with multiple explosions.
Second of all, the explosion force ned to break bedrock is about a few million times higher then the current nuke. Minecraft wouldnt survive it.Is it actually possible? I thought it was hardcoded as "impossible to break"?

I'd say that in your situation installing Linux from the beginning isn't a bad idea. Ubuntu is a good starting point if you haven't used Linux before and it will run very quickly on your PC as well.
Anyway, you can always buy Windows later on if you decide that you want to switch to it, and have the money available.
Exactly what I was thinking, once I feel I'm ready for windows 7 (or when windows 8 comes out) then I will purchase it.

AFAIK, only redstone, gunpowder, and glowstone work. However, I haven't tried coal dust.
-
I didn't think of that. Anyhow, it will probably be up off the floor a bit, so it wont be directly on the floor. Hopefully that will help.
-
Mmm, I had discovered this a while back, just by putting in a coal fuel cell in the canner then just tossing in all the dusts I could think of. I found that using the ingredients from IC1 super fuel worked quite nicely. However, I could not burn it in a generator (has something to do with it not being in NBT tags?)

Thanks, I was planning on putting a fan in the front. Why do you not like psu's on the bottom?

I don't know much about reactors, but what I do know, is to replace the copper wire with diamond cable to prevent energy loss. This will help with reducing the energy need.
-
Mass Fab gunk is a bit interesting, the ore, probably not, as Alblaka doesn't want new ores without a good bit of stuff to do with them.
-
WE have nothing against you, however, the idea of a lightning rod gathering energy has been around for at least 6 months. Alblaka has said NO so many times, it is kinda getting old.
-
Lightning rod suggestion? AGAIN!!? *shakes head in disapproval* Just look at my signature.
Doesn't anyone read the compendium? *shakes head again, shuffles away mumbling*
-
I ended up going with this case. Any recommendations for additional fans?

In regards to the energy transportation, NASA is currently looking into a space elevator design (which will probably never happen) However, you beam energy to the module that goes up using a high intensity LASER. It then converts this beam into energy to continue on its way up the space elevator. The elevator is not a sound idea, however, the laser is an interesting concept.

I never see why people think there houses burn down in lightning. It's raining people! The rain puts out the lightning!
Also, check out my signature (I have had it for awhile now XD

-New ID range makes us consider moving all out blocks to a new ID-set, effectly ruining old saves unless converted. Jeb said something about an official Map converter, probably need to check that one out.Alblaka, here is he link to the mojang page. On it contains the official map converter that he has release open source. Could be worth looking into. http://www.mojang.com/2012/02/…necraft-map-format-anvil/
Just think of all the new blocks you will be able to add! Anyhow, I'm totally ok with waiting for a converter, as I'm excited to use 1.2 with IC.
BTW, I was curious how the version number is going to work. We are at 1.7, soon we will be at 1.8, then 1.9. What then? We move to 2.0?
-
If you haven't noticed, minecraft 1.2 is here. This is the change log for it:
New jungle biome
Added ocelots
Added cats
Added iron golems
New AI for mobs
Tame wolves can have puppies
Villagers will have children if there is room in their village
New map height limit ( 256 instead of 128 )
New items and blocks
Doors have been updated so that double-doors work better with redstone
Added rare drops for mobs
Many other minor tweaks and fixesLooks pretty good, glad they've added everything in the changelog. Now how will this affect IC? Looks like a pretty clean update, aside from the new world format, which shouldn't affect us too bad. I'm defiantly looking forward to building massive structures up so high and flying around in a jetpack at extreme altitudes.

Known issue, first, this is the bug section, you probably ought to go to the support section.
The answer? The current sounds system is quite buggy. When you go outside the range of the sound emitting blocks, when you reach the threshold of hearing, the game lags pretty hard. The solution? Go into your IC config and turn the sounds off.

That's actually a pretty good idea. I like it.
