In fact, I originally thought it was this way when I first started playing way back in IC1. I now know it is not, but it makes sense. Grind up your valuables to get a higher chance of scrap. +1 from me!

Mmm... some of us *older* folk around here get used to updates, and continue to play outdated minecraft with the equivalent version mods until they are updated. Honestly, I'm in no rush to get IC2 1.2.

Welp, just found out the ugly news. Talked to a knowledgeable tech guy, and described my situation. He told me it was probably a DOA, so I'm going to begin the RMA process. Any tips? Ever deal with newegg? Anyhow, that'll be another 15 bucks on top of my video card... Ugh. While I'm at it, I decided to get windows 7 OEM as well as another case fan. Linux just wasn't working out for me
EDIT: Do you think my power supply is powerful enough to handle my video card? When I first used the video card, it would just randomly shut off. I thought it might be because I had pressed the power on and off button too many times, but it may have been my psu not being strong enough.

No actually, the computer boots, fans spin, single short beep sounds, but nothing displays on the monitor. Then, it is unresponsive to me turning it off, requiring me to remove the power source (I don't like to, but nothing I can do about it.)

Thanks, I'm using the radeon 6850, which freezes my computer if it is plugged in. I'm probably going to buy windows 7 (although I don't want to) so that I can get this $800 machine going. I can't update my motherboard either thru ubuntu. Do you think updating the drivers would fix my problem, or do I have a dead video card? Sending it back to the store for a refund will cost me $13 in shipping, so I'm really hoping its ok.

Currently, this is about impossible without base file modification and intense cpu/video card (?) usage.

Alright, so I've purchased the parts, they arrived, and I successfully assembled the computer (Yay for me first time!) However, upon trying to hook the monitor up to the video card, the screen shows it briefly, then blackscreens. The only way I've gotten it to work was to remove the video card and use integrated. I was able to install linux this way. Any idea on what the problem is, as well as advice on how to update the drivers (they require windows, which I really don't want to buy)

Thanks, yeah, I plan on buying another 140mm fan for the front port, as an intake, and having the rear fan as an exhaust. Too bad my case only has 2 fan ports

Although you may have looked at the source code, most of the things you talked about were not about breeding, which I believe were what Alblaka wanted to keep secret the most. Honestly, I see nothing wrong with your post. I also agree with most of your post. Alblaka said he has something in the works for Agriculture, considering it's not even a finished part of IC2.

I downloaded it myself and it worked fine. But Modloader 1.2.3 won't install Ic2, it tells me that it "failed to load mod from mod_ic2.class" so I'm going to make a thread with the whole error log.

Stop using tekshat or w/e its called and start using magic launcher, you still have to do a little work but at least you wont support people that outright steal stuff without asking permission. (The bonus is that people wont shun you or look at you with murder stares either)
This ^ , although I never used it, I have heard that it works alright.
And I guess I'm out of the loop, why is it Tekkit now? I thought it was Technic? Idk, I've been so busy lately.
