I need to be actualized in the modded community. Time to make a pack with a few mods (matter overdrive, TE3 and such) but I've also decided to install IHL just to once in my life get the cool stuff from it!
BTW, the fractioning column is used as a distillery? If so I can balanced my pack!

I think putting back the Silicon dioxide in the Thermal centrifuge should get silicon plates or something among these lines, which you can process inside the block cutting table into wafers!
-
Ic2 has silicon dioxyde iirc, there should be a way to blast furnace it into silicon to print the solar panels.
Also one casing = one machine. Using more expensive items doesn't induce higher outputs. Unless the recipe isn't the same at all (like TE's growing thingies you pit with a seed 'inside the incubator).
If you were to use item casings (one each panel) than 16 solar panels would cost 8 iron ingots, which is the same iron cost as your suggestion but they're item casings after all.
Printing wafers isn't possible yet unfortunately. Beg the ic2 developers! -
Lots of noises = lags. I still blame HDarkness, although my game is somewhat playable. I've just edited now since I was absorbed by the work and I didn't bother looking at the forum.
I'll try to stay as long as possible, but the more I play and the more I get frustrated. Could it be by my pc being shitty, or by a skeleton getting out of nowhere and one shooting me with a great armour (+ shields). The same armor can help me to swim in lava, get blown up by 3 deaths creepers and still survive. Just those tiny grindy things being counter productive and making me lose my time for nothing are the reasons of such annoyance. When I play an hardcore game, I enjoy getting things going even though the difficulty is real, but games like darksoul or bloorborne seem dumb to me, where you keep repeatedly dying again and again.
Basically, strip mining it is. I will no longer experience the fun of caving, and I'll not raid a dungeon until I get my quantum armor. I don't mind losing my stuff after a few days of playing if I couldn't take over a PVE correctly, but losing it because my game runs incorrectly, or because a random mob spawns in my house or one shots me.
BTW, don't light your place up with carpenter's blocks/torches. They stop emitting light for some reasons on chunk reload, and that's why I once met a death creeper inside my house. What I use now is vanilla torches placed on the same block as a nook/strip. It becomes a microblock torch, burning indefinitely.
I'll hang out on IRC later tonight, but I'll not play for sure, I'll be back in x days.
Arch, keep the hard work, and btw there are 2 recipes for the carpenters' blocks, I think the basic ones should be disabled since you added your's with the long wooden sticks. -
It doesn't. It generates too high in mountains.
Well I've found UB's lignite at low levels on k4, I guess I'll check out myself
Damn you for the diamond! You should make 256 TF portals :p -
I made a concept, which would be useful for my underwater city : self powering quary with gt dynamos
First, do you happen to know if lignite generates in the ocean? If it doesn't, than I'll throw away this concept -
-
Good to know! Also will radioactive stuff damage you ? That would be pretty dumb to wear an armor made out of radioactive stuff if you die.
-
What if putting plastic sheets reduce the damage taken by radiations, and after a certain amount of sheets the armor will act as an hazmat suit ?
-
I know it should be pure logic, mine is to check when was the file uploaded. Unfortunately I've seen many unlogical people needing assist on how to get something done on kirara.
-
I updated K3's configs. You can still log with the old one but will be kicked if using chisel. Is that worth making a post in the announcement thread ?
Any change is worth writing in the official thread. Let's face someone who couldn't even log on ic2 forums for a while and suddenly was able to get back. If he checks the official thread but doesn't look here, he might not update his config if he doesn't check the date of the last config file. I'm not sure if this will happen a lot though, but still worth writing here.

#irongolemfarm
What about making them drop brown limonite dust
Iirc this stuff is worth 1/3 of an iron ingot. Than there is magnetite, which is worth 2/9 of an iron ingot and finally yellow limonite / banded iron which are worth 1/9 of an iron ingot. And maybe make them drop some iron chunks every once in a while, since I don't think somebody would be please to get back only 3 nuggets from an iron golem he summoned. -
Well if you wanted to, /ban Nexey_ and than /pardon Nexey_ since it won't matter anyway :p it was just to let you experience the feel of getting rid of such a problem :p
Also, ULV stuff for fermenter and solid /fluid heat generators, LV stuff for generators, MV for kinetic wind, HV for reactors / Steam related machines. And maybe EV stuff for the scanner, and IV for massfap / replicator. The pattern storage should be HV.
My plan once I come back is bees. Since crops take ages, I'll just breed forestry trees giving seed oil in a plain so no butterfly problem. Oh and if you can disabled those fuckers I would be glad. -
Steam related machine is hv imo.
Same goes for reactors.
Generator is tier 1, geothermal is tier 2 (should it generate energy) and the generator taking any kind of fluid inside is tier 2.
Fermenters are tier 1, fluid / solid heat too -
The thief skeletons are just dumb. they have no place in a tech focused modpack. they cannot be beaten by becoming better equipped, which is the antithesis of the point of this modpack.

So this is something I wanted to do, even though I left a few hours earlier since I ragequit my computer. I have exams, after the exams I'll see my girlfriend, so I'll be back at most in July.
This thief skeleton pissed me off. He took my sword, had 40HP and was running faster than me. After dying 3 times at more than 1k blocks from my base I decided to go back where this sucker was, but my computer froze about 200 blocks away. Well, shit, I simply shut off the computer, I already spent 30 extra minutes than what I expected just to get the stuff back from about 1500 blocks and I got to get prepared for tomorrow. I'll try reconnecting in like 15minutes, if I die again I'll leave the stuff on the floor because I got to sleep.
What will happen is that I'll not be able to play, I have some life changing exams in a bit and I'm not failing them to stay one more year in my current school. Arch, if you can feel a bit of pleasure, you can ban me until we are the 1st July and not unban me even if I whine :p that way I'll not be tempted to play.
Last thing : I'll not fancy losing a good stuff in the case a thief skelly steals my sword and kills me everytime I want to get it back, or if it happens inside a rogue like dungeon. This mob is by far overpowered and should be disabled.
In my case it stole my sword, than the pick with which I was hitting it, and finally ran faster than me to kill myself. I don't want to experience a situation in which I need 1/2 second to react against a mob trying to steal my nanosaber and leaving me without any way to kill it. Mostly because it runs too fast to take a decision. I vote for disabling it. -
Later, I have my first exam in 11 days. Meanwhile I'll build the structure of my underwater city and make a schematic so on KH once I have the cobble I can start building it.
-
I'll wait for a config update disabling these mobs before joining again.
-
Well I wouldn't like dying in the beginning and not being able to gather back an axe, or at least 5 logs to make a wooden axe back. And since this time around will be harder, I'm kinda afraid of this situation.
That is exactly why I asked Greg to put his forced gm2, that way I would always get a free axe when hitting a /gamemode 0 command block and I would turn back to gm2 automatically, but since he really didn't get any concrete example I gave up making him understand my mind. Whatever.
I experienced a lot the situation in which I'm short on the durability of a pick in the middle of a cave, and I had to dig up since I couldn't find the proper exit. Well I didn't get enough durability and I spent, in average, over 30 minutes finding the way out, with mobs everywhere. Maybe less when I found some wood thanks to a mineshaft, a few creepers and enough health. Since the first time I got stuck, I always carry one axe on me. Really only beginners (And I went through this) are more likely going to end up inside a hole, waiting for a certain death.
So +1 for adv mode, while I'll request something else to Greg concerning soft blocks. -
Please wipe my player.dat if you haven't made it. I don't want my spawn to be set on top of that dungeon
