Block updates, machines, energy cables, item pipes, particles, tile entities and possibly chunk loaders to keep these farms running all the time, yes crops and bees are definitely not as server friendly as a tower spawning one iron golem each 10 minutes with 20 villagers around and a bunch of doors.
Concerning vanilla mobfarms, if they were laggy, than why would so many unlit caves not lag the hell out of the world ?
Your argument is wrong.
Bees and crops are definetly better, but I have more fun building an iron golem farm than staring at my crops 20 hours per day to get high stat crops (don't get me wrong, I had great fun doing this, I had more fun building the iron farm for example and even more creating the pigman farm).

Please explain here what the arguments you have of what is hardcore and what's not are. Otherwise you can't pretend being the guy deciding what is hardcore and what is not hardcore just by saying "It's not hardcore" :p

Guys it's not happened yet but consider not putting arch in too much pressure. He's doing so much work he can't just hold on with things to keep another thing clear. I mean invultri was at his second server with so many players, he knew what to do and in which order. Maybe invultri got his organisation as a godsend, but in the case of Arch he needs to discover the proper way to do things, even slowly, and of course he doesn't fit the expectations you would have with invultri. Keep in mind he's been busy, he's been on the verge of giving up, now is the worst time than ever to bump up any critism (even constructive ones). Imo you should wait and watch, greg you should be the first to apply doing this since you're working hard on your mod and it may be overwhelming for you to get so many people suggesting things all the time (that's not a problem with you and if you feel offended sry for that). Arch will be opened to suggestions once things are working nicely, right now the servers are still unopened and you're already pointing out things which will become useful only in a near future. Like does he really care right now about people getting confused when we update a server, whereas there's still none out there?

So it turns out I want a swamp with an ocean nearby or at least not much land around. While I still want to live in a mountain near a swap I now want that ocean. This will really help me with my food problems and I'll not say why :p

Well I had to wait a long time before deciding to start AS2, because alpha. I started it in late alpha since it was pretty much the final version. I'll hold off until the recipes are done, in the meantime I'll build a spatial ship and do my exams.

I can hold off from KH thanks to AS2, as long as you notice me when the pack can be played the way it is intended to be. Even though I would like to be part of the first few people to join, you said that people willing to play correctly should wait a bit more. So I'll wait :p

Grag I suggest adding the slicer back asap so we need to slice the bread into toast (because cooking break doesn't make sense) to get into the good stuff.
I would like being able to breed harvest craft crops on ic2 sticks, and even needing to get some via mutation. If that could happen, only basic stuff like hhhhhhhhwheat, oignon (plzno) and potato could grow on hydrated dirt, everything else would need a cropstick (playing on AS2 is inspiring). And last thing I would like to submit a resource pack with a custom .lang file, nothing too fancy which will make you laugh.

I'm worried about chunk loading. I would like to have some chunks loaded to let a machine process stuff, but it is not what I want to talk about.
The places of the bases will maybe chunk load half of another base so we need to setup a rule to make sure outsiders to make a base so close to mine it would chunk load half of it.
My plan is to go with forestry asap, I'll make a wheat farm and a mushroom farm to get dirt. So this requires big setups which will glitch out if not loaded correctly.

And concerning gravity, greg added a construction pickaxe which mines ores and stone 50% slower but construction blocks 50% faster. Maybe you can find his method of checking which block is an ore / stone and maybe you can generate a list automatically with ALL the entries to apply gravity to the stone blocks.

I'll unfortunately not be able to pay by the release date. I'l have heavy exams (Le baccalauréat) during a whole week, I'll still hang out with you on IRC / TS but consider me joining 24th, pretty much by the time the pack will be done so this is great! Maybe even later if my gf comes home right after the exam but that's fine.

Concerning TC, here is my last word.
It is ridiculous to have people using TC gears and harness on a GT oriented server. We have mods like Gravisuite, maybe MPS in the far future, or even GTextras which will be adding nanobots to repair the stuff. Don't ever mention TC on Kirara Hardcore :p
