Holy cow. I didn't even know this was coming. Can't wait to work on the sounds for this stuff.

r.e. the problem with sounds being too short for the machine operation. This is impossible to avoid. The machines have a set operation length based on ticks (roughly 20 a second). As sound works in realtime i.e. seconds, it's not possible to sync these up. The problem arises when the server is not processing the full 20 ticks/sec (it will do this if it's not powerful enough to handle all the data being processed) and an operation time is lengthened by this, making a 15 sec operation into a 17 sec operation. As there is no hook in minecraft to stop a sound when a machine operation finishes, I cannot make sounds that are longer than a full operation. Unless of course you fancy coding us a timestretch algorythm without pitch modification for the audio engine a la Melodyne (which retails at about £500).

If I remember right, the current version of Equivalent Exchange uses Itemsprite, which is incompatible with forge. That's your texture problem right there. If you wanna play them all together, wait for a forge release of EE.
-
Excellent suggestions, good idea. It would be nice to have all of the item names/sprites normalised to improve the ease of use.

Havn't a clue what triggered this, it's a weird one. Whenever someone nearby has a jetpack equipped (Think it was an electric one), every time I jumped it played the jetpack sound. I had only a batpack equipped and didnt' have a jetpack in my inventory at all.

The sounds for the mining drill and the chainsaw are largely incomplete. The sounds at the minute are just placeholders. We're working on a completely different sound bank for them, but it requires an overhaul of the sound code for these items. Expect in a future release.
r.e. the chainsaw problems. I think that's being worked on.

If BC SMP will come next weekend, i assume we better wait with IC² SMP as well.
That's a very silly idea. If it's released now, we get a week of public testing so that it's totally ready for the next SMP release. If the work is finished and we have a release candidate sitting ready, it would be very foolish to waste a weeks work staring at the calender and waiting spacetoad. The community have been waiting long enough. Another week could hurt our player-base. We should really have pushed it asap after the yogscast thing came out to really increase our players.

You're welcome.

I am bit confused about different voltage levels. Here is a few questions about them.
Wiki says:
When I connected enough generators to a single copper cable connected to a MFE I was able to get readings like 130 EU/t. How is this possible?
Why is the energy loss higher on high voltage cables? Isn't that a bit unrealistic? In the real world they use high voltages to transfer power over long distances because the power loss is smaller.
Also how is it possible to convert Low Voltage to Medium Voltage and so on? Isn't that like free energy?
1: Voltage and EU/s are 2 completely different things. Voltage is the power 'tier' whereas eu is the amount of energy being transferred.
2: The maximum EU of 32 EU/s is per pulse. So you could theoretically have 100 generators attached, each sending 5 eu/s for a total of 500 eu/s. This will not damage the cable, as no individual packet is more than 32. There are just 100 5 EU packets.
3: High voltage has higher loss, but because you will be sending much larger packets of EU, the overall loss will be much less. e.g. batbox sending current to another batbox over 5 cables, that's one loss. Over 32 pulses (for ease of math), you essentially lose one full pulse.
Using an MFE, because the energy is bunched up into larger packets, 2 or 3 loss is much less of an issue (basically, you'll need to have 4 times the loss before you're better off with lower voltage). Similar rules apply to the higher tiers of electricity.4: Converting low voltage to medium voltage doesn't give you extra "energy". It just transforms it to a higher voltage. If you put 128 eu into a LV transformer (4 ticks on a batbox), you will still get 128 eu out the other end. It will just be a higher voltage. You could send it all the way up to HV and you'd still get exactly the same output as what you put into it.

would you rather have to stop to recharge your jetpack every 5 minutes?
What has my comment got to do with jetpacks? I didn't mention them at all... Besides, I rarely use a jetpack, but I use my quantum leggings every 15 seconds or so. So my point stands.

Rofl, gotta say. I love the idea of Battery Pants. Although I'm not sure I'd like all of that stored electrical energy around the sweet potatoes.
I would miss my quantum suit super speedy runny pants though.

ahem, lets cut to the chase...
re. stone is WAY TO FRICKIN EXPENSIVE!!!
to fully coat a reactor and make it safe takes a ton of iron, not to mention all that tin. What i'm suggesting is a slight (+10) boost in blast resistance for re stone, and a new crafting recipe.
1obsidian+1stone=1re stone. (shapeless)
this would not replace the old 8stone+1plating = 8re stone...
so, obsidian isn't entirely TO overpowered, since you would still need a ton to cover a reactor properly.Re stone is too expensive? And reactors are cheap then? It's SUPPOSED to be expensive... Bear in mind, that your reactor is not supposed to explode. If you make your reactor right, it's not necessary at all.
And you can get 3 stacks in obsidian, easily, in 10 minutes. Yes, it is overpowered.

I like the idea of reducing it to 4eu and 1 at night. It balances it very well with the current material cost. I always thought that higher tier items should be a smaller reward for more work put into it. Take the technology market for example. If you're buying a graphics card, you can spend £200 on a mega graphics card, but you could also spend £400 on a mega-mega graphics card. There's no way in hell you'll get a 100% increase in performance though. More likely about 10%. I don't know if I explained that very well, but I hope you get the point.
In reference to using iridium platings, bear in mind that these cost 7 million EU per plate. Would take a long time to justify the cost. I think halving the current daytime output would produced a perfectly balanced item.

Not much point when there is already an electrical wrench implemented. Save your iridium for more valuable tools I think.

Hats off to you Zippinus. That's a lovely contraption.

America, you ruin my language.
Never seen it used in that way in Britain, then.
I feel better that I'm not the only one. I guess it hasn't made it across the water yet (Thank ****)

(Other stuff)Give ALL power to the second MFSU as long as it's not full?
No. If the 2nd MFSU isn't full, it will send 50% power to the MFSU and 50% power to the MassFab. If the 2nd MFSU IS full, then it will send 100% power to the MassFab.
