Melon battery? Good idea. You can already craft 9 slices to one melon. Uninsulated cable above melon is good idea. But can be craftable as jack lantern.
I think IC EU is not electricity, so one electrode would be enough.
But Crop block do not have full melon. You will need to harvest-craft-place or grow wild melons.

Size of EU packet directly means maximum cable length. With improving it you will get even larger solar fields.
I know this is a good Idea, everyone who not confirms that is an Idiot, or has not checked that the average EU/t's are still the same and is therefor an Idiot.

And as a side note: Is it so hard to make common wrench for all forged mods? Let block know "wrench" behavior and turn to next possible position block, which do not know. -
Electric wrench use Mode key for itself. I mentioned it. May be not clear enough.

You will need a way to select instrument. Even with a chainsaw you need both mouse keys to operate. You need mode key to operate wrench.
Durability/charge will add a mess too.
But I want Combine of Diamond Drill & ChainSaw with double battery.
EE Katar and some "Paxel" are well known. -
Glass can be excluded if not wanted. Anyway I doubt it is solid as torch has special behavior on it.
Better think about Diamond/Gold looking blast proof house. -
That way you could keep the face to remove the block inside the building, making it practically unbreachable.
Add Iridium door too which close on RS signal and close yourself without a hope out.

My solution would be, to craft a bunch of colors (8 Colors because some of them can be mixed to get another colors) together with the Painter, to get a Paintkit. With this Kit you could paint 32 CF-Walls with one Texture, which you are select in a GUI.
This GUI is opened if you rightclick into an empty Area (i mean into the Air) or if you Leftclick. A Rightclick on a CF-Wall would repaint it if the Color/Texture, you selected is not already there.
No GUI needed really.
Use Paintkit on any block to select texture. Only solid block textures copied. Change itemname if possible. Use it on CF-block to paint. Drain "durability" when used. Leave empty Painter. -
I'm happy, no players, no any mob in game need "fire-hydrants".

I do not like grey aesthetic.
And game industry have some code colours like health-red, mana-blue, poison-green, radioactive-glowing lite green.
I'm personally do not want yellow snow in any game. -
The thing is gray colour cannot be "pollution" sign. You need some bright for this. Light glow green is ideal even if not realistic.

And how would you pick up it back? By iridium pickaxe? Or fully charged diamond drill?

2nd: If I remember right several TNT was able to blow bedrock out;

I'm afraid if solars placed as flat square, tin network has too many interconnections underneath? Is lag different in 3*3 solars and 9*1 solars?

It seems Alblaka need to add something to redirect lightning to next person, suggesting lightning rod.

Please change all machines behavior so, they start to work only when it's energy buffer is full. They will stop when energy buffer is empty.
This way machines will not start/stop constantly. -
Sounds like a pain to code not to mention a possible cause of lag.
Solars are fine as they are right now, although the ability to add some sort of dust that disables them (requiring cleaning) every x amount of hours (set in config- if zero disabled) could be nice for those players who really hate them...In cold biomes a layer of snow will interfere with solar. In warm - add a "mud layer", which can be found on solar after rain ends. In desert - let sand layer can be found on solar rarely from time to time. It not needed to be at each solar. The need to check each of many will help you.
Also can anyone explain: is it solars create lag or tin network under them?
If tin, then should help such trick:
If solar will have one side, which can be connected to other solar without cable massive network calculation will not be needed. -
Will we be able to macerate all those "Rare drop" junk from mobs?
All iron tools should be maceratable to different quantity of iron dust for example.
And I got two golden helmets! I cannot wear two! Allow me to macerate it to some gold lust.
Quantity of dust should be dependent of metal ingot number in item's recipe and item durability.
