Redstone current lights are useless, everything should use EU's even RedPower Lights.. .. I say =) Well MC lights usea glowstone yes.. But they should also use EU's when using IC

How ever.. Iluminators should have second mode? or totally different illuminator "megalator" =D lols Spot Lights!! =) yes Spot lights should be added To IC not to MCvanilla but to IC so they use EU's

better yet, how about make Illuminators a Coating for Fiber Glass Cables, that lights up when current is flowing through them? if this can be done without strainging the hell out a server i'd use thes on almost all my cables and even use it as Rope Lighting around my house.

I might be up for getting in on a Let's Play, but I honestly hate my voice. I also tend to sometimes have bandwidth issues that cause problems, and my PC isn't the greatest; while I had both electric furnaces, the macerator and compressor all running at once while the generator burned charcoal my game was showing the slightest hints of slowdown. It went away once I left my in-game home and did things in town, but still it was a little worrysome. I guess it just means I'll have to spread my machines and buildings out a bit, hm?

i discovered a long time ago that the Sounds from IndustrialCraft alone will cause client side strain. if you completely turn you Minecraft Volumn to off then you'll notice the lag going away. also if you notice your minecraft going slow then hit F3 and look at the pie graph it'll let you know what's using the most memory. for me it's usually the sound of like 20 recyclers, about 20 pumps and 40 compressors all running together, that alone causes alot of strain on my MC, and if i go across the top of my house at one stop next to my 80 wind turbines i go down to like 4FPS. if i turn my sound off then i have no problems and maintain around 134 fps.

also if you start getting bored of IC2 then download Buildcraft. it have ALOT of things that IC2 doesn;t and is cross compatable for the most part. if you want to see what Buildcraft is about look up "BuildCraft Spotlight" on Youtube by Yogscast.

Oh, man, you just gave me a *great* idea. Give the UI a row of buttons: T B N S E W. Clicking one saves the current query for automated output in that direction. And thinking about it, I don't even need the redstone hack I'd thought of before. I can flat-out lie to Buildcraft (and anything similar) about what's in the inventory and just happily import/export seeds as they're piped.

End result being that you can have automated seed distribution by using seed libraries in place of diamond pipes. Add an "output if fully-scanned" library with an analyzer attached, and presto, you can handle unknown seeds.

I have to get this working today, if possible. It's too awesome to wait.

once you get it working you should Youtube a video of your set-up, i'd like to see how your idea is working and if i can improve it in any way. also, is IC2 updated for MC1.2 (that i'm unaware of) or are you still using an older version?

also you should look up my thread on Seed Bag Archive.

i think your failing to read something Rick, lol. "Iron Golems" spawn in towns to prtect villagers, have 50 hearts of life and drop 3-6 iron bars and 0-3 roses. you can create a harvester/mob grinder to harvest and slaughter these Iron Golems for iron Ingots. the concern is exploiting this for basically infinate iron at an incredible rate. potentially like a stack every few minutes.

by the way golems do not take fall or drowning damage, they can be poisoned, lit on fire, or burned by lava though.

lol, i've been to africa, and it's not that they don;t have food, it's that it's so fucking aweful that they'd rather starve then eat it. i was there for 10 days and if it wasn;t form decent french fries and hunts ketchup i would have starved. i'll put it this way, i got my hopes up about a birthday cake they bought at a market about 60 miles away and a few people ate it but i tried it and i swear to you that thing was smothered in baking soda, which i thought was powdered sugar when i saw it. if you took a loaf of bread, and battered it with toothpaste and rolled it in baking soda.... there you have it, an African Cake.

but on a more serious note. i'd use these in dispensers around my house and yard and what not to keep me full instead of walking around and having to eat every 30 seconds when i don't have a qunatum helm or when players on my server are trying to follow me when sprinting and get to hungry to sprint.

don't you hate how potions don't stack? how about we make a Potion gun! that loads like the CFoam Sprayer does and changes the color of the tip of the gun as to what potions are loaded into it. it would change colors like the painters do, if a normal potion is loaded into it then you get the bottle back and it works like a mining laser and puts the buff or de-buff on the first thing it hits, so you could load speed potions into it and shoot an ally and it would give them the speed potion affect. or you could load a Splash Potion into it in order to hit all targets in the area around the first point of contact, but you would not get the bottle back, basically just increasing the range you can "throw" a splash potion. each gun could hold 16 shots.

or you could go with injectors, which uses non-splash potions and lets you use it on either you, an ally, or enemy. this would store 16-32 uses and you could use it to inject everyone around you including players, Wolfs, Iron Golems. that way you could increase their movement speed to keep up with you, damage, or use it to heal them by putting regenerative potions or health potions into the injector.

i already use to brewing system alot, i make fire resist pots for diamond expeditions and when i go to the nether, specially to farm Blaze Rods off Blazes, i use speed potions about 80% of my time online, i use throwable fire resist pots to save players on my server that fall into lava, i use Splash Healing potions on allies during Zombie invasions so i kind of play the role of a Cleric, i throw Benefitial potions all over the place, however i do wish potions could stack even if it's only up to 8 or 16. i just had an idea! Potion Gun thread coming up!

it would be nice to be able to make fertalizer AoE Potions that i can throw onto my crops or use a dispenser to dispense fertalizer with the flip of a switch.

also as for the MinecraftChar + MinecraftPig = MinecraftZombieman that's about how it works with plants. usually it's from an insect taking pollen from one type of plant and taking it to another species by "accident" and there you have it. the alternative of Grafting tree branches onto other trees.

and as for the Nuclear Reactor causing mutations. sadly alot of players don't even use Nuclear Reactors. however: a Uranium Block (made from 9 uranium ore) could possible cause such mutations. such as plants that grow Mob Drops like Ghast Tears (Weeping Willow Sapling) or Rotten Flesh (Titan Arum, a.k.a. Corpse Flower)

how about making these blocks but simply have them affect Nuclear reactors in the area? heaters would be used to heat an area slightly for Breeder Reactors, and Coolers / AC Blocks, would be used to help cool the area. this would theoretically help the heat transferance and cooling of reactors in ambient air. (helps cool even when there is nothing but water blocks touching the reactor)

that would be a funny site, but agreed, we just need to find a way to entice players to learn and use the higher forms of energy generation. cause i know there are people out there with like 2-3 stacks of uranium ore but are still using solar panels because they are "easier, safe, effective, and maintenance free". i know because long ago i used to be one of those people until i got an ice-fed Reactor outputing 1,900EU/t

Some upgraded components (a next tier) for the nuclear reactor would also motivate ppl more to use nuclear power instead of laggy solar spam

very much agreed, i think the main reason people don;t make them is because they are not easy to set-up nor understand right off the bat and most people don;t want to risk the emense amount of damage they can cause, when learning and setting up your first reactor takes like an hour, or more. if players could make a more durable or more stable reactor with almost no fear of it exploding then i'm sure alot more people would use them.

for example, you could make a QURG (Quantum-Uranium Reaction Generator) where you ram 1 uranium cel into it like you would a normal generator and it would produce 1.5 million energy over 3 hours. when if you put it in a normal reactor by itself you'd get 3 million from it minimum, up to like 12 milloin per cell if i'm thinking clearly. so it might not be nearly as efficient for your uranium but i'm sure players that don;t use Nuclear Reactors are stock piling uranium with no use. this would allow them to use it, yet less effectively, in order to reduce the Solar Panel Spam.

Also, perhaps since the QURG would drain them slower and "more accurately" perhaps have it's ouput as Nearly Depleted Uranium cells at 80%, eventually a player would have so many nearly depleted uranium cells that that might be tempted to make a Breeder Reactor in order to recharge the cells to put in their QURGs or they'd learn and understand reactors as a cause of these and start using Nuclear Reactors more. so regardless i see this as a good opprotunity to lure people into using higher teir machines and upgrade from those lesser generators.

youre on to something good there,

iridium machine blocks... hmmm, could also open up IC to the elusive tier 4 technology, at an extreme cost thou :P

very much indeed :D and would actually give a use/need to mass fabricators and large scale energy production such as a nuclear reactor. most people build a 400 solar panel farm but i could easily see people changing that to 4 nuclear reactors for 2,000EU/t in order to make the most advanced machines and Iridium Blocks used to make blast-proof chambers for a safe enviroment for the nuclear reactors.

cpw, please dont stop working on these.. I dont really need the adv machines, just this adon, so thanks!

i agree, this addon seems awesome! i can't wait for IC2 and BC to be compatable with MC1.2. as soon as they are i will be downloading your addon as well. IC2 and BC aren't already updated for MC1.2 SMP are they?

if it was instant then i'd put it in my doorway so that it would re-charge me everytime i went in or out of my crafting room/factory. if it was a steady recharge then i'd wire my entire floor in my house with them so that as long i was in my house i'd be charging, if it was an area "static" recharge then i'd just make a line of them in my walls so that it looks decorative and is effective.

A device similar to a pressure plate, or perhaps a block you can step on. While you're standing on it, all your battery-power items and equipment is charged up.

Optionally: A device similar to the Tesla Coil, which charges all players that enter a certain distance of it. This would allow some crafting work to be done while one charges.

i love this idea! i get so annoyed taking off all my items, armor, mining lasers and packs and manually tossing them into some MFSUs, like love if there was something i could stand on or in and have it recharge all my stuff. whether it is instant or not. like even if it's like a tesla coil that recharges my 5,000 EUs as it charges and zaps me, or if it's like a Teleporter and recharges everything instantly at the cost of 150% of the energy it took to fill everything to max. the "teleporter/Instant" recharge would be ideal, but even if i could set up a room of these "Wireless Recharge Blocks" to charge my stuff while i do alittle bit of crafting or fishing, that would be awesome too.

recipe could be something like 1 MFSU, 1 tesla coil, 4 uninsulated HV-Cables. 1 stone pressure plat, 2 advanced cuircuts. like this:

:Refined Iron: :Intergrated Plating: :Refined Iron:

:Electronic Circuit: :Tesla Coil: :Electronic Circuit:

    :Refined Iron: :MFS-Unit: :Refined Iron:

yeah i work in a refinery 60 hours a week and i know exactly how that stuff is, when i'm bored i watch the scaffold builders throwing stuff up and was actually part of the construction crew for a new Super-Adsorbant Polymer Refinery next door. so i'm all to familiar with the stuff :)

p.s. ther recipie could be 3 iron and 3 refined iron for 16 pieces, i'd probly make it non interactive with construstion foam though. that way you could use it for walkways and catwalks in your factory/house/refinery.
