I just realized that Quadrant II piles have a higher energy density than the stationary Quadrants. You can fit three into the same space at a single Quadrant IV (or any other six chamber unit for that matter).

Flowing water uses an entirely different block ID from source blocks, so why would it stop if it can not count on the source being close enough to grab?

I am trying to say that a using a launcher like the Technic one could allow for a "hidden" beta, a beta that is open, but few really know about it and can easily revert if they are so inclined. Thus more people could have tested the build and thus find more bugs and thus a lot of bugs would have been known earlier.

As for the RRU bit, it means I think all of the people requesting and nagging caused Al the Dragon to breakdown and release the second beta build as a full release. (I got this from the version number. Notice that it is exactly one build after beta build 1.105)

I hate to say it, but I think Team Technic has the right idea, a launcher that allows users to choose their build and chooses for them if users don't decide on a specific build. It is very likely that most users of the Technic launcher just chose a modpack and go, not even touching the settings, thus getting the latest recommended build, not the beta build.

On a side note, at RRU I would call this "pulling a Lego Group" as this is what happens to many bit of Lego software. TLG would set a ridiculous deadline, and the developers can't build a full game. Here I call this "Pulling an IC2 user" as that may have what happened when the testers said its ready. The team simply got tied of having to answer questions and in an act of compassion, the testers said it was ready.

-Edit by the way its quite cheap you use up a bit of starting materials but you don't need to replace them (yea 4 diamonds, 200 copper, 137 iron, 52 tin, 16 gold, 31 rubber, 16 redstone and thats it. You only need to replace the uranium cells. Pretty good for me

Compared to what I have been using, that is good for power and on par for cost, and lacking in breeding. Compared to what I will be using, that is on par of power, good for cost, but is still lacking in the breeding department.

Mark II reactors rely on storing heat somewhere in order to vent it during the cooldown phase, and there aren't many places to store heat in the current system. 60k coolant cells, over a 10k cycle time, average to storing 6 heat per reactor tick, the same as a normal vent - you do gain slightly with the coolant cells, since you can timeshift the cooling, but that's relatively small. Heat storage in 'normal' components amounts to a small sum as well - going with the generous assumptions of a 50/50 mix of vents and Component Exchangers across 50 reactor slots, that amounts to a 150k heat sink, or about 15 heat per tick.

So it seems like the 1.106 reactor model heavily favors Mk I, III, and V, with only a very narrow window for Mk II to possibly operate in.

It's higher efficiency than any Mk I currently in the list (aside from the reflector-based eff 7), and it is a different resource balance: lower gold, more copper/iron. I don't know if that's enough to make it useful to others.

I could add some plating, but that would add cost. Then again, cost is not the first priority if you are using a Quadrant of any sort nor are effects related to extreme heat. I may just update Quadrant II and Quadrant III families.

Edit: I did add plating to the Quadrant II, III, and IV families. On a side note, exactly what does the heating cell value indicate on the Quadrant II? Is it something to worry about?

There seems to be a major bug: I calculated a design having 264 cooling, yet it claims that there is only 260.

Edit: I missed the part about spreadvents not being consistent about cooling.

Will the reactor split its packets across many outputs? If that is a no, then making any pile produce at 2049 EU/t or higher is pretty pointless.

No need for micromanaging your reactor just put the uranium cells in it and it breeds them for ya. 4x 18 cells per cycle recharged and it uses just 1 uranium cell. 85% heat is at 59160 heat and it operates at ~58000 heat.

There is a reason why I stuck with the "Basics" for the Quadrants. The goal of the Quadrant family is to minimize operating costs, not building costs. Also, is it just me, or are Quadrants the most powerful breeders in this topic (that won't have problems)?

Is there a limit on how much energy a transformer can process in one tick?

Replace buckets with coolant cells and you have a coolant cell cusuc.
