It was only version 58 that didn't work with BC. Lex quickly fixed the problem for the next version (59)

Buildcraft works fine, with anything after 58. It was only version 58 that broke BC.

Did you start with a fresh 1.2.3 jar?
You didn't put in the forge version for 1.2.4 did you? Any forge version 2.0.0 or higher is for 1.2.4.

Not that I have any clue what I am talking about. =) But it looks like inventory tweaks (invtweaks) tried to do something it couldn't, and may have caused the crash. I'd try running with out that mod, for a bit, and see if it still happens. Could be an incompatibility between invtweaks and IC2. And 1 or the other would need to adjust to compliment the other. But again, this is just me taking a stab in the dark. As I can't make much sense out of the logs yet.
Other things to try, would be the last version of forge for 1.2.3, (1.4.1.64) I think it was. Could be that it was a problem in forge that made the 2 not work together.

Caused by using the wrong version of forge.

Buildcraft didn't work with that version of forge [58], it is the top post on the homepage for buildcraft.

How much RAM total? How much RAM is allocated to java? Is java up to date?

Could you please link a patched class file for those of us who really don't want to have to wait for everything to update to 1.2.4 so we can have 6 more vanilla blocks and other minor tweaks? I for one would be grateful if it's not too much bother.
If you need NEI so bad, just downgrade NEI to the version that worked with IC2.
-
Know how you feel. I myself, have no problems using NEI or the like to replace items I have lost to a bug.

No idea then. I can't find any info on there site on what version of forge they are using, but it kinda sounds like you either don't have it connected to a generator, that you have the generator connected to the output side of the storage device, or you have an older version of forge then is required for IC. The fact that you can't access the GUI makes it sound a lot like the version of forge is out of date.
With an addon pack, I think you are better off looking for support from the people that release that then here.
They'll have a better idea of what changes to block id's and stuff have been made, what versions of the mods are included, etc. -
What version of forge are you using?

That's the problem.
You need .57 or better. (avoid .58 tho)
I haven't updated to .61, but .59 and .60 both work well. Haven't heard anything bad about .61

Glad you got it figured out. Now I'm off to start a new world, no importing items for me.
Thanks for pointing me in the direction of lctrees. Now I need to find something to tell me what block ID's i have left, for when thaumcraft 2 is done.

No problems with codechickencore-client or NEI for me. Liking the world I started off in, might be adding this to my list.
I started a world, wandered around for a day, NEI'd in a couple generators, batboxes, macerator, and electric furnaces. Set them all up with some work, then went off exploring. made sure I went far enough to gen new chunks, found a cave, spent 2 MC days down there exploring.. came out made my way back to my crude IC setup, all was well and good.
I'm thinking it is either the item ID or block ID mod you have/had, or that you accidentally changed something in the config files you didn't need to.
The only thing I needed to do was reassign pretty much all the BC block IDs, I moved them to around the 180-195 range. -
Wow, lctrees and buildcraft use identical block IDs (nearly)
But that said, I was able to add in LCtrees with the rest of the mods I was running. It took alot of moving block ID's in the buildcraft config. And still I didn't touch an item ID. Going to test placing items now, see if it all works.

After the first run the RP auto assign should toggle itself back to off. So it really only affects the initial assignment of IDs and then is inactive.
You shouldn't need the 4096 ID mod, I'm running BC/IC/RP/Foresrty/railcraft/portalgun/EE/wireless redpower/2 mods that give more tubes for BC/I think some thing else as well, but I've lost track... and have only had to change 5 block ID's and haven't had to run out of room yet. Nor have I touched a single item ID.
I'd look at the tree mod you are using, or the block ID fix.

Yes, you can just install the newest version of forge over the old version.

Ok - removing it with a pickaxe caused the cable to not revert back, and when placing the induction furnace down, it believed it to sill be an electric furnace. However, removing the cable and replacing it solved that issue. Removing the electric furnace using the wrench and then placing the induction furnace seemed to work just fine however. (Placing both in same spot in both cases). It's still a bug, but you can play with it and get it to work anyways.
Thanks for the tip!
Sounds to me you are still using the old version of forge. That was a bug we all had, until forge updated.
What version are you using?
If you are playing SMP it could be the server using the wrong version, but I don't really know how the server - client interactions work, I stick to SSP myself, so kinda always assume that posts refer to SSP unless they mention otherwise.
