i hate it. the new leveling and stuff is sped and potions and enchanting is just, no. and i was playing around with a new mod and it wasent compatible with ic2 i guess, and i didnt have a back up. so now im stuck in 1.0.0 till ic2,BC,and RP updates. FANTASTIC -_-

That's why one keeps seperate folders for their modded and vanilla minecraft installs.
I use this batch file for my current 1.8 modded install:

    Code
    @echo off
    set APPDATA=%cd%\1.8_bc2_ic2_rp2
    Minecraft.exe

Incidentally it also makes the install 100% portable, I can just dump the folder on the flash drive and copy it to the laptop later for play there.

    Hmm...
    Geothermal may be an option.
Does anyone know what the pump radii of the three (IC2, BC3, RP2) types of pumps are?

BC's pumps have quite the pump radius. see the images I took a while ago here (also a shot of the lava cell factory in there as well)
With this addon you won't even need to make lava cells, it includes a geothermal generator that'll accept lava direct from a pipe.

oh: and there's only two pumps, RP2 doesn't include one.

I think I'm going to have to build one of those for the tower on my one world that has the big solar array on it. Maybe it would address the lag issue I was having once and for all. Can't hurt - what's a few iron?

Just be sure to poke f9 and be sure that all of the panels are covered, it'll probably take several chunkloader blocks. (f9 adds a blue outline to perma loaded chunks)

Because you could travel to a specific point in the nether. Portals only move you to the "same position" in nether... whereas you can place and link teleporters from any spot, f.e. right next to a giant lava pool.

My thoughts exactly. Plus it would allow nether travel from convenient spots without that annoying portal noise.
Right now all of my portals are off in the distance for that very reason.

    Found a bug...
I use to deploy machine Filter from eloraam RP2pr3, with AdvMacerator it work fine! When a supply from top, item placed in first slot and when I took from back side by another filter, it take from output slot.
But this only with macerator, with compressor output filter took first from source slot, and nothern leave for work, then took from 2-nd, and only in last turn take items from out put slot.
    Can U fix it?

was that supposed to make *any* sense whatsoever?
are you running the latest 1.23 patched version linked to in the other thread?
They've been fixed for buildcraft for input to the top and output to the sides, just use that.

Direwolf, I have a question. I notice that when you open chests, they automatically sort themselves, and that i think you can shift click into crafting tables. What mod does this?
Otherwise, your channel is the second best thing out there, second only to Etho, who you can't even get close to competing with. :P

Convinent Inventory, this has also been mentioned multiple times in the comments on his videos but apparently you don't read much.

EU-SENDING DOESNT FREAKKIN EAT ANY CPU. Dunno how often i've to say that until people keep it in their heads.
Loading/Unloading Chunks with solars on it can cause CPU-drain.
Placing/Removing components to an energy grid can eat CPU.
    EU-sending does not.

Ah.. that explains a few things. I was wondering about two things:
1: why I never got any lag: simple: the chunks with all of my solar panels never unload, thanks to a few chunkloader blocks.
2: the supposedly magical "fix" in one of the addon sections did nothing: answered above

hey guys. i have been poking around the forums looking for Recycler set ups, can you point me in the right direction, or to a youtube video? sorry for asking.
    Chur ?(

yeah.. define "setup" i'm just using the advanced insertion pipes from this BC sub-mod.
Have 4 recyclers and a ring of pipes connecting to each of the four with an advanced insertion on top.
First one full or can't take <x>? gets automatically passed onto the second.

though if I had to re-do it I might have used 6. I haven't gotten an overflow yet but it was close once or twice. Can't keep the cobble generator and quarry running at the same time.

Thanks for the update. My concealed missile silos appreciate your hard work.

Also, thermonukes blow out bedrock. Not sure if that is intended or not.

Yeah, noticed that one myself a while back after an "oops" and forgot about posting it.
the "oops"? Was setting up a "launch platform" of several (6 I think) missiles intended to be targeted in different areas. (woo! big huge craters)
one premature firing later I had a bunch of missiles coming down on my head. One hole to and through the bedrock.
I've got a (bad/good) habit of utterly ruining test worlds.

no not a rail gun because that would be messy, I mean a pure energy shot

ah, so something like the existing tesla coil but only targets "enemies"? Also very likely with a better look?
Not sure how feasible it would be but i'm picturing a gun like device that rotates towards what it's firing at. (something tells me not very)

An Alternative would to use MCEdit, and prune teh world to teh chunks you want to keep, this would regen Everythign else, its wat i did to my "federation Command" map when i was "forced" (Because of Indrustral Rage adding it) to add Redpower. all it took was a few moents,

psst: reading works, was already suggested days ago.

FnordMan : if I add them in they will use electric to fire high energy bullets (like star wars!!! 8o )

Not even Star Wars, Rail Guns actually exist. The US Navy has been testing one for a while now.
sounds good to me though, just have the "ammo" be an iron ingot that you can get <x> number of shots with. (<x> probably being pretty high)

True, EE is so horrible unbalanced.
You can even farm diamonds with a cactus farm 8|

yup... that's my problem with it in a nutshell there. Renewable resources like cactus, Sugar Cane or cobblestone into non-renewable resources like diamond or any of the ores.
The only reason it stuck around for so long on my game was the chests, but the Iron Chest addon filled that little hole nicely.
