You could use Uncomplication and put stuff on the Replacement Map.

As the forum section this thread is in says, it's outdated. And it isn't developed anymore. It does not work and it probably never will. That's probably why it crashes your Minecraft.

It works exactly like you said, you
copy the corresponding .ini file to "minecraft/config/ic2" and modify it.
The corresponding .ini file is inside of the IC2.jar

You can.
The ItemStack you get from the IC2API is now called ItemStackA
Just create a new ItemStack using the Item of ItemStackA, the Metadata of ItemStackA and the amount you want. -
This is caused by another mod adding an invalid recipe containing an ItemStack with a null item.

Just remember: We're talking about Quantum Boots here, one of the most endgame Items in IC2, so don't argue with it being OP.
