My serious reaction: Thank you for undertaking this task. Just as IC2 is a complete restructuring of Minecraft's awesomeness, this is the same to IC2. I want to see this on a bukkit pvp server with the "Factions" plugin. Can't wait to fire an ICBM at a mortal enemy from the moon. That'll be possible, right? :p

It has to do with the most efficient fusion pathway, what's referred to as the DT (DeuteriumTritium) fuel cycle.
Deuterium2 + Tritium3 > Helium4 +nWhere the 2 neutrons in the deuterium and the 3 in the tritium together constitute the 4 in the resultant helium atom plus a free neutron. It is this free neutron that then reacts with lithium in the DT design to produce power in the
n + Lithium6 > Tritium3 + Helium4
pathway.
When encountering Lithium7, the
n + Lithium7 > Tritium3 + Helium4 + n
pathway occurs, which fails to produce energy, but repopulates the reaction with neutrons, thus helping it continue, so a DT reactor would contain both isotopes of Lithium.so tl; dr: The number of neutrons is important. You can also less efficiently use Deuterium2 + Deuterium2 in the DD fuel cycle.
I think there was some fusion pathway that uses vanilla hydrogen to combine with a heavier element to reduce neuton production (because energetic neutrons will cook your face) but I forget.Ah, I see now... makes sense considering.. ty for the explanation.
Hopefully I can install this with little to no conflicts now that I'm on my machine again, lol...

^This. Another soul waiting to rain nuclear death from the moon!Have you considered implementing Plutonium? One comes across it as a byproduct of nuclear fission, and Steve decides to throw it into a warhead.
As a side note, does anyone know if jamioflan would allow someone to do a bit of coding to make an addon allowing some of his bomber planes to drop a nuclear bomb?

Can you make the higher tier batpacks charge the mining laser?

I have a suggestion:
The Countdown Block!
Are you tired of not hearing a voice which says when your missile starts?
Now your problems are solved! Just craft a Countdown Block, activate it with a redstone pulse and wait! After 10 seconds it will give off an redstone pulse to activate your missiles! HIJOE!
And that's not all: The block will make a countdown sound (T minus ten nine eight seven six five four three two one ignition!) so you always know when the rocket starts! HIJOE!
And it's easily crafted:
being redstone, being a redstone repeater, being a noteblock and being ! HIJOE!

Why would you want a rocket to fire ten seconds after? Cant you just hit a button? and wire that up to under the rocket? Here's my build...The lever launches the rocket and retracts the piston at the same time, putting out the fire
