1 Nuclear Reactor, Mark I, Efficiency 1.5

Waste of uranium only 1.5 eff.

i know but its the best you can get out of 1 chamber...(atleast with what i see)
-
No, it isn't. Rick's is more efficient, AND less expensive. Your design generates 6M EU for 4 cells (1.5 eff), his is 4M EU for 2 cells (2 eff).
The only edge this has is that it generates more total power in one cycle and 50% more EU/tick. But honestly, if you are using that much power, economy probably isn't your concern and you can get twice as much power out of the same number of cells in a 2-chamber design.

There's nothing wrong with this, hes sacrificing eff for EU/t.
Uranium isn't hard to find, and if he was trying to save uranium, he wouldn't have posted a 1.5 eff design.
You guys should listen to yourselves.

I was merely correcting the claim that this reactor was more "efficient" (as he alleged in another thread), when it clearly is not.
No one is contradicting the claim that it produces more EU/tick, but efficiency has a very specific meaning here. I'm merely trying to prevent people from being misinformed. Is that a crime?

I really like this design, it gives a lot of EU/t for the amount of non-uranium resources it uses. I'm not sure if it's possible to squeeze more EU/t out of a Mark I reactor without massive copper/tin/iron costs.

If your goal is only to milk a single chamber to it's limits this is probably about it:

Notice that it cannot be run continuously. It's so tight on thermal budget that /only/ IHDs /and/ stuffing it full of cooling cells was required.
Still, the cost is 'only' a few more glowstone dust and some stuff you probably have laying around. You'll also be getting more power out of the uranium without much less 'instant' power from the reactor. Actually at the stage in the game where I could not afford larger reactors I'd /prefer/ to build the smaller one for it's continuous operation and compatibility with 32eU/t limit wire. (If you use two gold to an LVTF you can work around this, but you'll still have the problem of using all that power at once.)

Check this out!
http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…xwnt05br3u0tet4ubrlaiy5ogYeah, great! You didn't just copy a reactor design which has already been seen in dozens of threads and bump a thread nine months old.
