It would seem that recipes are missing, or a mod conflict.

I am running the mods:

modloader
forge
recipe book (When I found the recipes were not working I found black pages in here.)
too many items (Which I used to confirm all the items were really there.)
Ic2
Buildcraft

I found ores in the ground like copper and tin, so I can say the mod kind of works with the others. I did not install modloadermp.

The Recipes are there, but the Recipebook CANNOT SHOW THEM, you better use NEI (Not Enough Items), so you can dump Recipebook and TMI at once.

I forgot to mention that the recipes do not work in the crafting table either, and I have no clue what your talking about.

Use Not Enough Items instead of Too Many Items and Craft Book.

Seriously though, NEI shows recipes in a lot better way then craftbook. You just hover your mouse over any item and press R to see the recipe.
