[sugestion] - Q-armor toggleable nerf.

    I am playing in my home server with a bunch of friends, and lately, the q-suit capabilities are making me uncomfortable. The Q-suit is too strong!
    Its energy last too much and give too much speed. and jump capabilities.


    It would be amazing if we could tweak those stuff in the config file. Things like the maximum speed, energy use rate and jump height. I have no desire to disable it at all, but its easier to simple run to my friends bases (that is about 500 blocks from each other, which is supposed to be really far) instead of making a good train system or a teleporter.
    Really, its strange that we prefer run. (and using the "bouncing speed up", we go even faster!)


    Rail craft have an config to configure the HI-speed rails speed, cant something like that be implemented on IC?


    It would make the q-suit good, but not immortal long-lasting god while using it :P

  • before i start the are a few things that need to be made clear
    1st. due to factors like the length of the todo list and the devs attention span you could be waiting months to a year for your idea to be added if approved so it is always best to try and make due with existing tools whenever possible
    2nd. repeating previously proposed and denied suggestions is strongly frowned upon here some suggestions can even get you banned if your not careful


    now that thats out of the way are you guys running a pvp server? if so you can counter qsuits "OP"ness by using nano sabers (they do extra damage to qsuits and nano armor) or by targeting you opponents mfsu's so they can't charge their suits(preferably with nukes :)). if you are not running a pvp server then you shouldn't care how the other users play if they want more of a challenge then they can just not use the suit or only partially charge it or only wear the legs my point is you can impose your own limits already with out config files, or you can disable the crafting recipe and use nano armor (same protection but no powers). also the reason the charge lasts so long is because it takes a LOT of eu to charge the suit

    true balance is impossible in video games the best one can hope for is to make it really hard to guess which of 2 choices are better.

    Sorry if its seen to be a dobble suggestion. The other thread i saw was about just nerf the thing for everyone.
    What i asked here is to make the speed and jump configurable by config file. I didnt see any post about this, specifically.


    This would be a way for who are unhappy with the current strength of it could tweak it (make it even stronger, if you like), and would not change anything for those happy with the actual system.

  • when a nerf is defeated the next logical approach is to ask for a config option its a given. the devs know there is a demand for it most likely so there is no need to bring it up again


    but the power of the suit shouldn't be an issue in nonpvp because your actions won't directly impair others any more than a normal user. as for a pvp environment a fix is in the works for a official warfare addon to make qsuits easier to kill

    Just to mention it, the bug causing desynced damaging in regards to the QSuit (aka, doesnt take damage) is one of the few bugs we still couldnt resolve yet.

    I just think we need more IC based counter measures against high tech armor... Hopefully we might see those in the near future, yes?
