Also I don't think ic2 219 will work, and saw a report on the GT thread that 216 will not either. I managed to get my client running with 215.

IC2 exp 221 works with the newest gregtech. Now for the highlands problem...

I am really curious on how this highlands issue will be resolved.

So it seems from sdj64's posts that highlands wont really be needed once 1.7 gets implemented(or will change drastically) . Perhaps he wont even update to 1.6.4. Maybe a new map without it is the best way to go? just a thought.
Maybe try to yank the mod out.. it does not seem to add any real special blocks since the trees are forced into vanilla mode? Would be wise to backup and test first tho.

You guys make a good point. The world gen is entirely non-highlands (which is the reason I even used highlands in the first place), so I'll probably just drop highlands.
When 1.7 comes around I'll just make a new map with the new 1.7 worldgen 
That way you guys can enjoy any further changes Greg makes to the tech tree progression by then
EDIT: Anyway, server back up. Check OP for mod versions.
Everything seems to work, I did notice that all highlands biomes have reverted to the plains biome.
Only thing I could notice so far is that the vanilla biomes dont stitch nicely with the old highland ones

rubber trees seems to be missing the textures for their trunks in some places in the world (all of the world that I've seen at least). it does make acquiring sticky resin more challenging but, it doesn't seem like this is intended behavior.

Welp,I guess i quit. Got stuck in some cinnabar while moving a load through the nether and fell in lava with 22 of my electric machines, and my advance tools. Was fun while it lasted.

I have no idea, the server melted itself.
At least it hasn't given any out of memory exceptions yet.
EDIT: It appears to have been generating chunks in the surrounding area for about 12 minutes, and then after that it's just been calculating the explosion itself in that massive area.
Will report further as events unfold. Your machines might have survived, thanks to the wall, but I suspect everything in the area is dead.
EDIT2: The area is at least 2000 blocks in radius....
