Yes, thats what real life geothermals do, except that they work on geoactive places, for economic reasons (and lower depth).

I'll just modify it heavily for this kind of use once I actually get started.

I'll start working on the manager, sortron, and forth computers later on today when I get done making the battery box.
And, windmills might never come. Sorry to kill you're dreams, but Eloraam uses a custom model rendering engine when it comes to the model the windmill uses. 
I'll try to make it work anyway. -
if you could make them work with the BC pipes as well...you'd have a serious leg up on the old way

Meh. The custom renderer Eloraam uses is too confusing to use for 1.5 and up. Thats the only thing I don't like doing. :\
