I see there are releases now, but it's still going to be sometime before the first mods start showing up. After all, Minecraft is at 1.7.4 now, I believe.

No modpack needed. Installing mods are easy. Get the installer for Forge and you're done with the hard part. (Pfft, all those days where we had to download 3 dependencies, do jarmodding for most mods are gone.)
Don't bother migrating worlds across major minecraft versions (i.e. from 1.X to 1.(X+1), so e.g. 1.5 to 1.6)), it's going to create some major problems.

Overclockers can be used before the player has enough to build more machines, then they can simply remove the overclockers.
Oh yeah, that's right, we can't operate a simple screwdriver to uninstall overclockers. Well, I guess it'll have to be 100+ centrifuges, then.
Greg should add LESU versions of all the machines. -
You likely won't get any support for this, since 1.5.2 is extremely outdated.

Wait, it can? I saw no GUI indication, so I've been giving it water cells constantly.Edit: I see it on the wiki now, but I would still love to have gases and liquids in block form in addition to just in cells. I know something like helium would not exist in liquid form and would dissipate in gas form, but just being able to move it in pipes or store it in tanks would be very useful.
Try piping it in. The slot where you would usually put the cells would begin to turn into a water source block. -
Stacks? That's what you think. You'll need a few million just to run a few cycles.

You going to base edit Minecraft, cos with no MCP/modloader/forge you're going to have to
And remember, more than 50k lines of code was changed IIRC, 1.6 mappings are going to be unreliable. -
I didn't expect this post to go overlooked like this. Does anyone know how to make fuel? It would help me out a lot.
It's not reimplemented yet, IIRC. -
I'm bored gonna decompile IC2 and port it to 1.7. I will hopefully get one millionth of it done. It would of course be easier if IC2 was open-source but that will never happen. Wish me luck.
[There is nothing in the license saying i cant do this, i can modify it i just cant redistribute the sources plus i won't finish it]
Good luck. Forge hasn't even started; FML and MCP is still in extremely early beta. There's a reason why they aren't out yet.

What he means is that 5-chamber reactors cost more than 2x 1-chamber reactors. It's usually a good practice to use multiple smaller reactors than a large reactor.
And 5-chamber reactors are more messy than 1-chamber reactors. They're harder to automate.
0-chamber to 4-chamber reactors are easily tileable; i.e. they can be placed adjacent to each other. This makes automation easier.

One thing to note about biome choice: it's also a good idea to live on biome edges and corners, especially if you prefer building subtractively (i.e. living in caves, digging out to create space).
Black Granite serves as quite a good explosion resistant material, but you need to move it with diamond tools or pistons.
EDIT: Oh, and canning machines are good if you're living on naturalRegeneration off.

Nice design! We didn't have a good 4-chamber yet. That will run at efficiency 25 too, which is outstanding. (Link-clicking is broken, you need to copy&paste from the post)
Of course, it only works if you have excess copper, tin and coal lying around, because as soon as you start fabricating them out of UU-matter, your efficiency will take a sharp nosedive towards 0.
GregTech crops can replenish the copper, tin and coal! -
With all of the changes that are happening with the way nuclear power works; will the reactor planner be updated to accommodate for these changes? If so, who will update it? The IC2 Devs? Thanks
Talonius does the reactor planner. Since he disappeared for quite some time, there is no knowledge of when the reactor planner will be updated. -
What mods do you have installed?
Try turning into survival/adventure, if you do get the radiation effect that means it's probably a nuke.

This reactor does use lzh condensators but if you are using AE, you can replace them when they run low. Video of automation soon. this reactor puts out a massive amount of power with a 1.98 efficiency if everything is made of uu matter. it outputs a total of 324 million eu at 1620 eu per tick. When recharging of lzh is in place this reactor will not explode but I still recommend surrounding it with hardened glass in case of bugs with automation .
Condensators are just terrible for nuclear engineering. They drastically reduce efficiency and ever since IC2 experimental, this will run energy-negative since UU costs 10x as much now. -
IC2 registered everything inside forge dict.
this issue of other mod that not registered it's stuff.
IC2_lf --> true
IC2E --> refined iron is going to be removed, so not registered in oredict -
The point is refined iron is removed from IC2. It has been replaced with the plate system now.
-
They use up tons of lapis/redstone. Even if you were to use UUM to recreate them, it would still be energy-negative
