i played portal 1 but it had it's fair share of flaws.......

at least you can get to the mun, I can't even get there. Can barely get a working if highly eccentric orbit.
doesn't help that my old rocket of doom design doesn't work with the latest updates either. Don't have the screenshot anymore but I managed 4km/sec or so with stock parts.
Course I haven't played it since 0.12 or something like that. I've got 0.14 sitting here waiting to be used though.i can get close to it but i fly past it everytime

i actually use most of my gold for glowstone and gold tracks, most of it for glowstone since there isn't a UUM recipe for it and i've already used a mining laser to collect almost all the glowstone in a 1,500 by 1,500 block area in the nether
how much glowstone you need?

silver is not part of ic^2.
you dont find bronze you craft it so i do not see a problem.
gold does need more uses because right now it is completly usless and people might say make glowstone but why would i do that when mining lazer(exposive) gets me far more and id proably run out of redstone for synthitic.

WE have nothing against you, however, the idea of a lightning rod gathering energy has been around for at least 6 months. Alblaka has said NO so many times, it is kinda getting old.
