Holy fucking god.
Of all days, I decide to come back to Kirara today and notice all this shit about Inv leaving, and a new admin (sorry Arch I haven't played in so long I have no idea who you are :P), and before I go settle through the dust, I'll drop my two cents. I have a lot of reading to do.
1) I will always prefer the most minimal modlist, with no biome mods (god I hate biome mods, same with UB and I even prefer not having PFAA). What drew me to Kirara, back in 1.6.4, was the minimal modlist combined with a hardcore G T experience and a dedicated playerbase.
2) Inter-server connection is jarring. If we are going to have separate servers, they should be separate. Think about how Forgecraft does it. I like Pyro's CustomNPC server idea, for example, so if we had a server dedicated to that, alongside a softcore GT modpack server and another plain hardcore GT modpack server, that would be great. If there are going to be multiple servers, they should be dedicated to doing one thing very well. QCraft portals remove any level of immersion.
3)Since the playerbase has grown, I would recommend making modpacks for a launcher. Updating mods by hand is easy (I make modpacks all the time), but time-consuming in a world where we can update the whole list with a push of a button. I fucking hate Curse and what they've done to other games, but the Curse launcher and the AT launcher provide viable options. Mod updates by hand used to be a way of seeing whether someone could apply for a whitelist, but the server is so big nowadays that it has been rendered obsolete.
And yes, MrMoo, this means I'm back. AP exams are over.
