I sat in a seat, in free fall towards the spaceport below. We were closing in on the ground. 500 meters before lithobraking would have started, the engines roared to life and slowed our descent. The jars of Potentia and Ignis had cleared out a little area, so that we could land without being killed instantly. I grabbed my gun. The doors of the transport opened, and me and my squad rushed out, searching for the nearest cover. My objective was simple: hack the base, get rid of the spambots. I tossed a grenade in a door, flushing out 5 spambots that were quickly destroyed. "The spambots kkep surprising us, be ready for anything", I shouted over the radio. I ran through narrow corridors, leading my squad of five soldiers. When I went out a door, a spambot jumped down at me from above, one of the new four-armed "cleaverbots". They were designed for close combat, boasting a round-saw blade instead of one hand and retractable spikes in the second, a sword-like blade in the third and a mace for the fourth. The also wielded a disgusting hybrid between a tentacle and a tail, capable of strangling a man or impaling him. It went for the impaling. Being insanely fast, it was impossible to get even the meter away that was required to shoot it with my rifle, so I drew my handgun, only to have the cleaverbot knock it out of my hand with its mace before I was able to shoot. It jumped on top of me, pinning me to the ground. Its sawblade was spinning, its tail-thing wrapping about my throat. It brought up both its blade and saw at once, and was about to make a bloody mess of me when one of my squadsmen drew up from behind and drove an iron rod through its head. I rose, said a quick "Thanks", and started towards the security network mainframe room. I entered the room, plugged in the dataorb and got ready to defend the room. The spambots would try to stop us by all means. First came a bunch of five cleaverbots, but we were able to shoot them before they got close. When more than ten meters away, cleaverbots were no threat.

Then, the spambots started getiing tactical. The started throwing grenades in. A few we threw back, the others we simply backed away from. That was effective enough. The hacking was soon halfway, and...

Something blew up. It was a dump sound, so it was probably something buried beneath the spaceport. Whatever it was, the built in aura-goggles in our holovisors showed a huge amount of vis and flux in the area. I had never seen so much flux before, not even after the maddest thaumic experiments.

It was worse than just flux, though. The whole spaceport had become magically unstable, causing completely unpredictable things to happen all over the place. I saw a spambot spontaneously corrode. One of my squadmen started to dissolve, and another got a purple hue to his skin. However, what happened to me exceeded anything else. My genes had become unstable during the first spambot war, and this was too much for the instability suppressers to handle. I started mutating. My skin started to harden into a black exoskeleton, and my fingers elongated and became claws.

Look for a "nuclear boiler" in NEI. If it is there, it is because you have Atomic Science, the UE mod that adds uranium related stuff, installed. There might be a config file that allows you to use the IC2 processing. Any way, know your mods. Mekanism doesn't include anything uranium-related.

I looked at the table. It was a holographic map of all of Minecraftia, with small dots representing Minecraftian and Spambot armies and strike forces. There were no spambot armies close to Mojang City currently, but most spaceports were heavily guarded. "Well, we need to take a spaceport, but I don't see how we can do that, as it stands now. We won't be able to march an army through the spambot lines, and trying to drop paratroopers would most likely result in planes being shot down. Maybe we could tunnel under? Can you zoom in on Jeb's spaceport?". One of the officers zoomed the map in, and I saw that the stretch that we would need to tunnel was way too far. "I have an idea. We refitted the Great Plaza to a small spaceport, right? Maybe we could use some of the potentia-fuelled rockets that Executive Bolts designed to launch a personell carrier into onto a suborbital trajectory, then have it move down right on top of the base? That could work." To that, one of the officers said: "Yes, that would be easy enough. Maybe we could also use the same trick to send a few jars of potentia and ignis in first? That would clear some spambots out before the squads arrive." I replied that it was a brilliant idea, and went back to my quarters. I would lead the squads, and if we took that spaceport, we could finaly take the fight to the spambots.

Wasmic: Just a question: to go in orbit around Minecraftia, you need to move with about 3 kilometers per second. Can your cannon fire a shell with about 5 kilometers per second, which would be needed to counter drag? Also, we need to plug some rocket engines on the fighter, as we need to get the fighter orbital. If only the cannon is used, the fighter won't get as high a velocity on apomine as the spambot command carrier has in orbit, so it would crash into it. We want it to dock, then detonate.

Executive Jack: I'm not sure how fast we can shoot the shell, but it shouldn't be hard strap some boosters on the plane.

Executive Bolts: No, not at at all. We have developed some potentia-fuelled rockets, and since pure potentia has a very high compressibility, and very low weight, we can make some very powerful and long-burning rockets.

Be advised, the Great Plaza of Mojang City has seen the establishment of three small launch pads. Only craft with a total thrust of less than 1000 kilonewtons are cleared for launch here, limiting crafts to ICBM's, suborbital transports and light orbit-capable vehicles. We'll have to capture a spaceport to get big crafts in orbit, though. Good hunting!

I turned off the comms and hurried to the airfield. On my way there, the raid alarm sounded. No matter how many times I'd heard it, it always filled me with terror. I jumped into the nearest bunker, and waited for the thunder. It came and went again. Crawling up from the bunker, I saw that the runways had been destroyed. Luckily, my transport was a VTOL craft, so I jumped in, and soon after, the plane took off. After about fifteen minutes of flight, we strapped on our rocket harnesses and jumped out from the plane, using the rockets to descend on the spambot base below. A few bombs dropped past us and cleared the way. Down on the base, I assumed command of the strike force. We had barely touched the ground before the spambots streamed out. Due to having a hive-mind, they didn't use air-raid alarms. They all knew when one knew. I drew out my gun, shot a spambot in the head, scrapped a few with an EMP grenade, was nearly killed by a sniper before a squadmate took him out. I navigated towards the main control computer, started hacking it, and was killed instantly by a bullet to the head.

Be advised, intel shows that spambots have been erecting bases all over Minecraftia while we have defended Mojang City. These bases vary in size, but they are all closed-circuit computer controlled. This means that we can hack these bases for use with R.E.S.P.A.W.N. beacons. R.E.S.P.A.W.N. beacons are an old relic from the First Spambot War, and are essentially teleporter beacons that teleport you to a certain place, where you can be revived. They activate automatically upon death of the wearer. The problem is that the spambots will also be able to re-overtake these bases after we take them over, so expect battles to go back and forth, and expect a very fluid line-of-battle. Remember, allways keep a respawn beacon on you when going to war!
