    where the empty spaces are used for the lava buckets, just fire up the reactor, (gets it to 1k heat and then runs stable.) (i know reactor planner sais diferent)
    dump in 3 buckets of lava (+6000 heat to the hull)
    and let it run its cycle, all cells wil be charged.
    note: this reactor generates the exact amount of fuel it needs for its next cycle, i designed it for that purpose. while stil pumping out an gooood suply of power.


    it sacrifices energy efficiency for breeder efficiency (increases overal uranium ore's eff to 8X normal energy) with much faster generation of power.
    (active eu of 210)


    my advice: test this on single player creative mode in an big big bunker! if it blows, it blows gooood. (allot of uranium hehe)

    so, to get this all in one line,
    the general idea:


    an nuclear reactor, no energy production
    an uranium cell - only for its heat
    an few coolant cells - propulsion?
    an few iridium plates - radiation protection - heat?


    good plan, and when u fly above the height limit of ur world, it would slowly start to kill you with radiation (just like the void does with falling for to long)


    nice, i cant wait for my nuclear powered jetpack to burst me off into space :P
    btw, would its speed of lift of be changed? since it is nuclear based it should have an high flight speed :P

    the simplicity of replacing the uranium cell is cool,
    would replacing the old one refund an depleted cell thou? or is it completely consumed?


    few basic adjustments thou, it sounds neat. 3.4 hours of flight time, but is overpowered. maybe reduce it to 1 hour?


    and one other thingy, why have it limited to X seconds of flight? if u want to explore caves with it u dont wna wait for it to recharge. maybe for this jetpack the new hover mode could be usable. since it is iridium based. tier 3 jetpack. it should have an "no height los" hover mode and an "landing hover mode"


    that would make it an neat machine :D

    but since it is an advanced jetpack, how about implementing an use for iridium? maybe just one iridium plate, or 2. to transfer heat from uranium - propelant

    agreed, that is an isue. but easily resolved.


    if i look at EE (equivelant excheat) it did the job of using one item (phil stone) to create an second item (transmutation table) while refunding the phil stone within the crafting grid and consuming the initial resources needed for that item to make.

    it has been some time since i realy started using energy crystals for far away operations. but i run into an simple yet easily explained problem.


    an half charged lapatron... 500k EU stored in it, great. but now i have an second one, also 500k EU stored.
    i dont like to have 2 seperate crystals... i want one! all energy into one, giving me one empty. and one full.
    ofcourse i can just empty one in an MFSU and pump it into the second. but that takes one hell of a long time...


    what i suggest, place 2 crystals into an crafting grid. giving you one crystal that contains all the energy of both and one empty.
    as an addition to this, if the energy does not fit into one, the process of doing this wil cause all exces energy to be lost. ( balancing reasons )
    this also included simple RE-Baterys


    i just dont like to manage all those seperate crystals :P since i have about 60 this would be an nice addition..
    and if i think correctly.. easily implemented. since "repairing" is also used in Vanilla MC
    this would be an "repairing" of crystals. while refunding both crystals.

    nuclear jet pack sounds perfect :D lets see unless it ran off depleted cells it should have a very long flight time. what should the altitude performance be like? and how should it be refueled?(canning machine? mfe? put in reactor and breed it?) would the need to protect you from its powerful forces make it decent as a piece of armor? how should its hover mode behave?

    i was trying to make an joke, are you serious? having an nuclear reactor on ya back? it would pulse massive radiation throu you, killing you within an day.


    but stil, if u like the idea. i wont stop u from working it out :D goodluck, il be watching ;)

    And again everyone, who complains Silver does not belong to IC², gets shot, because that is obviously a suggestion to ADD it to IC², while it's possible!

    be my guest, alblaka already stated countles times that Silver WIL NOT be implemented into core IC2, its only used in the macerator recipe becouse of popular demand.
    dont get me wrong, id like to see it as wel, but i think this is becomming an sort of "lightning rod" suggestion by now....

    use an setup like follows


    MFS - MV transformer - BATBOX - Machine's


    this way, u can avoid having the empty batbox by ceeping power supply to the main storage device. (this is 600k against 40k) it wil continue to fill the batbox until it depletes the main storage, (i use BATBOX as backup reserves, i ceep one batbox to one machine, each is dedicated. its expensive true.. but rebooting 20 advanced machines is more expensive....


    and, this way you can always have each machine running without transformer upgrades, becouse it gets dedicated 32 EU/Tick from storage. (works for me.)
