Who the heck leaked this outdated changelog and what the heck is it doing on the wiki as if 1.96 has been released?
I can't get it out, the wiki page is huge and freezes my phone when I try to edit it.
the wiki history says Feanturi added the 1.96 section.
i'd edit it out for you but I don't have an account and honestly don't want to be arsed to try and get one. (if it's even possible for ordinary mortals to do such)
LOL, i got 1.96 on Friday, and they killed the download Saturday. Oh and the Energy-not-transferring-after-relog-bug is REALLY fixed.
I haven't actually seen that particular bug ever since I installed MystCraft myself.
Though if IC2 updates and I have to update to forge 131 or higher (given mod ores don't work in ages in the 131 version) I may just rip mystcraft out. It's not super useful right now. As it is the only thing i'm doing with it is a more convenient way of getting to the nether.
Moment, a Compressor can make Netherbrick? Why do i know nothing about that Feature?
yeah, I totally forget how I found out about it but it probably involved me poking r on netherbrick in NEI.
though I do need to get off my arse and mine some more netherrack in the nether so I can knock my (wooden) house down* and re-build it with netherbrick. (given I have yet to find a fortress...)
*elemental cutter, break a block and it's "what house?"
bug with the singularity compressor:
a stock compressor will do netherrack to nether brick at a 3:1 ratio (3 neterrack to 1 nether brick)
the singularity compressor does it 1:1 provided there's a minimum of 3 in there.
At least 5 Deployers are needed for a good Bucket-CASUC, and i use 8.
ouchie. never done a bucket CASUC before, not sure if I really want to either. They sound a heck of a lot more painful and volatile.
I'd recommend using Redpower blockbreakers for cobble gen and feeding the cobble into the energy condenser. MUCH cheaper.

that's what I did while I was following my "no collectors" rule. Made one exception to the tune of a Mk2 collector after I got tired of the constant "hiss hiss hiss" from the cobble gens every time I got near the reactor "building"

Waterbucket-CASUC is only possible with RP, unless you use BC and Additional Pipes.
yeah.. it'd be seriously evil without redpower.
like at least 2 advanced wooden pipes extracting things with a couple redstone engines each.
you'd need an advanced insertion to put the new buckets in.
but the real sticking point is the filling of the buckets. Only way I know of that's fast enough is a redpower deployer or two.
*5* MK3 collectors? (aka: cheater god mode items) That's a bit on the excessive side. Before I ripped out EE I found a single Mk2 and a collector chest made more than enough ice to feed a CASUC reactor.
"stack their way up"? It's a mining laser. I'll assume both sides have Lap-Packs.
anyway: set to long range and blast away.. no need to worry about pesky terrain getting in the way.

Doesn't that just disable IC ore generation? How would that affect crafting recipes?

It disables both IC2 ore generation and the blocks for IC2 ores at the moment. Hence it can't give you an IC2 ore block from the UU-Matter recipe.
Yes, but the UUM creates two times more dust of the same material instead of the ores.

well, never had forestry gen on but I have used IC2 and RP2 generation at different points and haven't really seen a difference with either.
Last game I had IC2 doing the copper and tin, now with the one i'm playing now (added Mystcraft) i'm letting RP2 do everything.
repeat after me: never use the latest version of forge. always use the recommended version
aka: it works fine in 3.2.5.120
another vote for "Eww.. tekkit" (by using tekkit you support the theft of mods, they still don't have permission to use everything)
anyway, it's pretty easy with buildcraft and redpower: deployer against the tank to get a bucket, from there you move the bucket into a auto-crafting table.
it's downright trivial with forestry using the bottler to stick lava in cans (obviously piped into the bottler from a BC pump) but you'll have to drop tekkit and do the mod installs yourself to use that one. (that being one of the mods they were stealing until SirSengir made it incompatible)
So, we've demonstrated that there's no real situation where coalfuel is a viable power source. How about this: What's better, geothermal power or forestry biopower gen + biofuel? (not biomass)
while I haven't used the biopower gen much i'd say that one by far as biofuel is much easier to make. Not to mention seemingly a lot more effective with saplings from a treefarm. also not to mention that it doesn't use tin on cells

yeah.. looked at that one once, it's horribly overpowered to say the least. Should output like 100, tops.
