    For example, if you analyze GT sheldonite, it would give ya the blueprints for Platinum, Iridium, Osmium, Nickel and Sulfur.
    Analyze some stuff that theorically contain a certain element to obtain the blueprint for it.


    I'd imagine that heavy elements (such as Iridium and even Uranium) would require substantial UUM to fabricate...


    Greg does make an interesting point about how diamonds would require more EU, but less UUM since they are Carbon-based...


    I do like the idea of creating a system of atomic research to analyze and interpret the structure of matter in a Minecraft world. For example, in order to fabricate Diamonds, you'd either need to have found a diamond, or an emerald, or something else with a 'Crystal Lattice' structure in order to understand how to assemble Carbon together in that fashion. Replicating and Understanding Carbon would be easy, as you would sacrifice coal, or wood, or even Sugarcane into a Replicator or Analysis machine to be broken down and weighed in terms of content. (Actually, the scientific machine that does this in real life is, afaik, called a Mass Spectrometer. They are around $100k to $500k USD in cost, but are very useful in scientific research).


    This could be used as an interesting research mechanic in order to break down and understand matter, from which you could then reforge or replicate later with EU and UUM. That way, some elements like Hydrogen and Oxygen could be easy to research, but getting to their isotope counterparts like Deuterium and Tritium would require 'more knowledge' of how isotopes and nuclear decay/reactions at place. Thus, in some aspects the 'advance' element would be gated by the research system, as you would lack the understanding of what those elements are, how their atomic aspects function towards their stability, and how to properly take advantage of them..


    (Which, in a philosophical sense, makes plenty of sense since 'pitchblende' has been on the Earth for as long as there has been an Earth, but it was never taken advantage of until the last century due to atomic physics...)


    People would have to buy new transformers/electrical appliances, which would take money they don't have. Before, they built dams. Why don't they try building bridges to nowhere?


    Many of those 120V appliances could be recycled and re-purposed into 240V counterparts with some ease. You could make a tax incentive out of the recycling of every appliance you have in order to save on the overhead cost of switching out to the new system, as well as rewarding companies that help put forth the effort to assist in the conversion. This way, the middle class could benefit from a grid upgrade as well, as they get to keep what they invested into their appliances residentially, as well as encourage people to actively invest into the updating of the news infrastructure by getting more businesses to work on changing their power distribution.


    I'm not saying updating the US grid would be easy, but it is something we ought to consider. And that many jobs added to the economy could help pull our middle class out of this recession. Linemen make pretty good money, and if we wisely recycle and reuse some of what's pre-existing, much of the overhead cost can be mitigated. Sure, it may take a couple of decades to complete, but as aged as our infrastructure is already, it is of serious concern to the U.S. public...

    that depends on what part of you is the circuit, if it never goes through your heart or head you're ok, you'll still be hurting. I've been shocked by 120 before, it is not fun even when it was just fingers. (Never try to plug in a cord by feel with your fingers touching the prongs.)

    No, if you are part of the circuit, you are fucking dead. No joke, I know many cases where electricians were working on wires, and didn't realize the cables were still live. Once they accidentally grabbed the live ends of the wire, they were cooked in mere seconds...


    This is on 120V American, mind you...


    Also, I'd prefer if mods weren't targeted to them and therefore cut potentially interesting features.


    I know right? Every time I see a post where someone complains that they hate how IC2 machines explode, I just want to tell them to go buy 2 copper wires, hook them into a cell phone or console, and then just stick those two wires into the outlet slots. I mean, seriously...

    Hell, that alone is fine by me. People don't realize that they were losing 3120 EU just to make 1 machine block... Even more if you overclocked the machine any...


    Its different to the wire one since it works on CF foam not wires, and unfortuantly needs a a solid block texture :( So i can't steal random Glass and Solar panel textures :p
    BTW< if you are using it, make sure to wear a lappack or above, it consumes a Metric Fuckton of EU.


    Yeah, the EU consumption is quite unreasonable. But despite that, it is my most favorite new tool so far in IC2 atm. Plus, with ejector upgrades added to my factory, early game is now alot more smoother than before :D

    Simple: whenever an item/block in Minecraft trumps the 'hard work' that somebody else used with other mod items/blocks to achieve a particular task...


    'OverPowered' is just a whiny expression of somebody who thinks you didn't work hard enough for your digital blocks. It's digital blocks, ffs...
