By the time you can afford a quantum chestplate, you sure have enough materials to make another jetpack...

Your setup is fine.
Do you let the crossbread crops fully grow, before removing them for "not being stickreed"?
That's the only thing I could think of why you could have not gotten stickreed. I repeat myself here, but make sure, you don't accidentally confuse these two. They look exactly the same in their first growth stages.

Can you post a screenshot of your setup?

You're probably just a bit unlucky then. You just need to try more often.

think you might be confusing the Crop-Matron machine with the separate Crop Harvester machine. Also, as of IC2 build 755 for MC 1.7.10, the Cropnalyzer can identify planted crops as soon as they start growing (your change according to the changelog), which I presume has carried over into IC2 for newer versions of MC.
Yes, I confused the crop harvester with the cropmatron, that's true.
And right, I did that change. I already forgot...

iirc, when you harvest stickreed with a cropmatron, you don't always get sticky resin, but also reeds sometimes.
Anyways, I'd suggest crossbreeding them not at a place where they'll get harvested immediately, but somewhere else and then pick the plant manually, once it's grown out and analyze it using a crop analyzer.

stickreed looks similar to reeds, It only looks different once it's fully grown, so you might just not have realized that it's stickreed.
-
crossbreeding is having 3 crop blocks next to each other, the outer ones having plants (in this case reeds) on them, the middle one being a crosscrop (you get that by clicking a crop block with more cropsticks).
But that hasn't changed since 1.7.10, so it's the same as for other mc versions.

In theory, you can get stickreeds, no matter what plants you crossbreed, however you have a higher chance of getting stickreeds when crossbreeding two plants, that already have similar traits than what you want to get. When I last wanted to get stickreeds, I crossbread reeds and reeds, (reeds are the closest to stickreed) and after a couple of tries, you should get stickreeds.

Automated cobblestone generators are already possible.

iirc, it was added in Minecraft 1.2, so yeah, it has been a thing for a couple of years now.

For anyone who has new information about this, please go ahead and put it on the corresponding issue on the bugtracker.

As coolant, it only accepts fluids, that cannot be coolead down again. Otherwise, ou could get into a infinite cycle byo heating up fluids and cooling them down again.

Yes, but what jar files do you have in your mods folder, when it crashes?
