Important Stuff - why are some people too stupid to look here for the Download?


Since it happens every-so-often, READ THAT DOWN THERE, before doing anything!!!

1. READ THE Q/A BEFORE POSTING ANYTHING!!!
2. Dont ask for Recipes of my Addon! All the needed Information is either in this Thread or accessible Ingame.
3. Dont suggest a NEI-Plugin, its already INCLUDED :D ! (mistaqur coded most of it)
4. Do not ask for Versionnumbers inside the Name of the Zipfile, I WILL NEVER DO THAT FOR THE MOST RECENT VERSION!!!
5. Dont ask for Configoptions which are already there! YOU CAN ALREADY TURN THE FRIGGIN SOLARRECIPE OFF!!!
6. Make sure IC² runs without Problems. I get constantly Bugreports with obviously wrongly installed IC² as cause, like "java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: ic2.api..." for example.
7. When you report a Crash, then INCLUDE THE ERRORLOG! I ignore Crashes without Errorlogs.
8. When you report a Serverbug, then try the same with Singleplayer, before saying that it only happens on Servers.
9. If the Crashlog tells you to not bug me, THEN DONT BUG ME ABOUT THAT CRASH!!!
10. Do not suggest ANY way of automatically using Silk Touch. I won't include SilkTouch Automining!!!!!

I will report and otherwise ignore anyone, who doesnt follow these simple Rules, in this Thread or in a PM directed at me.

Installation


Dropbox-Links for older Versions are further down.

WARNING: If you update to 1.5.1 then make sure to update your 1.4.7 to 2.90h before doing that or you will loose your Centrifuges.

Drop the https://dl.dropbox.com/u/88825306/Mods/gregtechmod.zip into your Modsfolder after you installed IC² properly. Config is inside the GregTech-Folder. If you are unsure about your Version, look at the "mcmod.info" inside the zip, just open it with Notepad.

This Mod can not be used in conjunction with Tekkit, until Kakermix asks me PERSONALLY for permission. And to be honest, he will not ask before, and since "after" (like he always does) is not possible, it wont get added to it. But dont worry, the FTB-Pack is much better, than Tekkit.

I asked Alblaka and he said that Donations for Addons are generally allowed, so...

I recommend you to tell me your MC-Username at donation, so i can may add you to the Cape-List.
But i add only people, who donate 2.50€ or more to prevent trolls.

Warning: The Capelist is confirmed to be working on most Computers. For some strange Reason some Computers don't display the Capes. And capital letters inside the Username DO MATTER, don't give me a lower cased Username, if the Username is upper case and vice versa. The Capes are ONLY visible, if you are logged into minecraft.net, and that with the correctly spelled MC-Username (only needed while starting the Game). If you experience Problems with your Cape, then check the Capelist below for your MC-Name. Also you could try to uninstall Optifine (if installed), just to see if that's causing the Problem.

Regarding Modpacks


Since I got craptons of PM's regarding "Can I include the GregTech-Addon in my Modpack", here a few Informations before you ask:

1. If it's a private Modpack, just for your Server, then I have no Problem with that, and you don't need to ask me.
2. If it's going to be distributed via the FTB-Launcher, then you don't need to ask me, as I already gave the permission to redistribute it via FTB.
3. If you are making a public Modpack, which is NOT distributed via FTB-Launcher, then you HAVE TO ask before.

Let's hope, I won't have to clean up my PM's twice a Week, like before.

Compatibility and API


The best is that you just ask me. There is so much stuff to be done wrong, if you dont ask.

DO NOT INCLUDE ANY ACTUAL API FILES IN YOUR MOD DOWNLOAD!!! That includes API Files of other Mods as well! I needed to write that here, because someone already did that even though I spammed this Rule all over the API itself...
This is not because of Copyright things. This is because it breaks Mods, if you include API Files inside your Download. I wish Forge had a detection measurement against that, WAIT I GOT A GENIUS IDEA!!!

If you dont know how to do that for Interfaces or are not used to invocation in general you can PM me.

Disable the Infinite-Water-Quirk with this here


Drop the Basefile inside this ZIP into your minecraft.jar/minecraftserver.jar to just disable it. Then two Watersources will no longer generate a Third inbetween.

DELETE MOST OF THE FPS LAG SPIKES OF DEATH WITH THIS WONDER WEAPON


This file decreases the Light Update Lag of Chunks with a high Altitude and the Nether on the Client Side. I basically deleted the Function which checks every single Block in the entire Chunk every tick. This should not have Side effects as these Light Updates are not working anyways. perfectly for fixing the Lag Spikes of Death, which always disturb you.
Not even Optifine Ultimate fixes this kind of Lag.

Don't even ask for other ones, as I don't backup bugged Versions (unless my Bukkit-Dev asks me for it), and everything what isn't the newest Version is automatically considered bugged.

This is NOT the most recent Version, this is for Server Owners, who dont make Modpacks, but need a working Link for their Clients. Don't ask where to find the most recent Version. That Link should be important enough to be found in a very imporant Spoiler.

This is a List of things, from which People think these are Bugs. Most of these are either 100% intended Features or not belonging to here, and if you dont read this before posting here, then you maybe get banned (depending on the mood of Alblaka), or your Post just gets removed.

These Q/A-Sentences were made with similar Intelligence as the "Bugreports" I got, some of them are quite funny.

Q: Where is the Download Link?
A: Seriously? You didn't even understand that hint in the first Spoiler? Wow.

Q: HELP! Your ID's are Conflicting with X
A: Dude there is a friggin Config for that. Dont expect to get help.

Q: HALP!!! My Buildcraft Items cant be crafted! YOU MUST FIX THAT!!!
A: Uhhm what? GTFO with your Buildcraft-Errors, they are definetly NOT my Errors.

Q: HELP I CANT CRAFT "XYZ"!
A: Use NEI. I changed many Recipes, so it has maybe changed the one you are using.

Q: HALP!!! I CANT CRAFT ADVANCED ALLOY!!!
A: You have Railcraft installed. Get its NEI-Plugin and look for Recipes in the Rolling Machine. You will find it there.
A2: Newer Versions need a Plate Bending Machine for crafting Plates from Ingots.

Q: After I left my Factory and came back, most of my Machines were looking like Advanced Machine Blocks.
A: Wait a Minute, then it fixes by itself. I had no other unlaggy way to do so. I'm well aware of that Bug. Happens very often with Chunkloaders.
A2: Newer Versions have that fixed.

Q: What is that blue Satellite thingy and why cant i craft it?
A: This is a Remote Sensor Kit of the NuclearControl-Addon. Its a very useful and awesome IC²-Addon made by Shedar.

Q: My Machine is consuming the Stuff without outputting Anything! HELP ME WITH THAT BUG!!!
A: Thats not a Bug. You are either not waiting long enough for it, or just not powering your Machine sufficient enough (explained right below).

Q: My Machines Progress gets null and the Machine consumes tons of EU for nothing! HALP! BORKEN!!!
A: NOT A BUG!!! If you are not applying enough EU/t to any of my Machines, then it just stops and the Progress is gone. If you then feed it with insufficient EU/t it consumes it and immidietly aborts (wasting EU!). That is much more realistic, than a stuttering (and then lagging) Machine. If you dont want to lose Progress due to that, then use the Config. It's under "features" as of 2.08d.

Q: Help, my Steel is getting confused with refined Iron!
A: Railcraft has a Config to enable Steel as replacement for refind Iron. Disable it by setting "B:recipes.ic2.use.steel" to false inside the Railcraft Config.
If you have Traincraft installed, then that's your Problem. It wrongly thinks, that refined Iron and Steel are the same. DON'T BUG ME WITH THAT PROBLEM!

Q: My Machines dont show any Progress even though they are looking active.
A: I guess you overclocked the Machine so much, that its own internal Energy Buffer isnt large enough to feed the needed Energy (the Buffer of normal Machines is usually 2000, what is too low for an overclocked 2048EU/t Machine). Apply a Battery Upgrade to the Machine and that should be fixed.

Q: How can I remove Upgrades from Machines? I accidently put too much Overclockers into my Machine.
A: You cant. I won't add any ways of Upgrade removal. Not even deleting Upgrades. This is fully intended and should prevent people from carelessly adding Upgrades to Machines.

Because Alblaka made a new Rule to the Addonsection, i have to make a List of Features here. :D
Please visit the IC²-Wikipage for more Details as this List is way too Large for a Thread of Descriptions.

Most important Features as of 2.04b:
- More complexity/difficulty of everything (as Advertised)
- f.e. If Railcraft is installed, then you have to craft Mixed Metal Ingots in a Rollingmachine and Electric Tools will need Steel instead of refined Iron (which I'm btw also going to add myself, but produced in an electric Way).
- An integrated NEI-Plugin, which was made by mistaqur and a little bit improved by me.
- Compatiblity with Nuclear-Control-Addon with GregTech-Sensorkits, which are only there, if NC is installed.
- New Ores, like: Ruby, Sapphire, Iridium, Silver, Bauxite (for Aluminium and Titanium) and Pyrite (which is 2/3-Sulfurdust + 1/3-Irondust)
- Fusionreactors
- Lightningrodbased Generators
- Quantumchest (Infinite Itemstorage)
- Multiblock Energystorage (LESU)
- Tier-IV MFSU with 10 times more EU (AESU)
- Interdimensional and Wireless Energytransfer
- Charge-O-Mat, which works like an expensive Chargingbench and a Chargingpad at once, as it can charge your Armor when you stand close by.
- Industrial Centrifuge with over 50 Recipes to extract more diffrent and realistic Materials out of your Resources, than a regular DejuicerDeviceOfDoom ever can.
- Superconductorwires (do not confuse it with the Superconductor-Item), which can hold any EU/p and have NO Energyloss at any distance.
- The Matterfabricator, which works like a Scrap-Only-Massfabricator, but can be configured (Configfile) to consume more or less Energy, but default is 100 times more Energy (and the normal Massfab i also disabled per Default in another Config)
- Generators for dealing with diffrent Types of Energy, like the Diesel Generator for regular Fuels (or BC-Fuel for example), or the Thermal Generator, which is an upgrade to the Geothermal Generator and accepts all kinds of Hot Liquid. All these Generators are accepting Liquidpipes and Liquid containers by default.

Wait! There's more.

- New Tools like the Rockcutter (electric SilkTouch-Tool) and the Lapotronpack (10millionEU) as Lappackupgrade.
- Silktouch-Support for macerating Oreblocks
- Better Recipes for creating Circuits using Gold and Silver
- More expensive/complex Recipes for Green Generators (Solarpanel needs Silicon, Windmill needs Aluminium OR Carbonplates)
- Electric Autocraftingtables with Holo-Slots in the GUI, to not waste resources on Blueprints.
- New Nuclear Fuels (Plutonium, Thorium)
- New Reactorcomponents to keep it cool.
- Uses and other Productionmethods for Tungsten and many other Cross-Mod-Compatiblities.
- An own electrictybased Automationsystem, what is the first one, that can automate Nucleareactors properly and wihout Problems. You now no longer have to use BC for your Factory (but i cant transport Liquids without containers, so you still need BC for things like Railcrafts Boilers)
- A completly new Upgrade and Cover System, which makes Machines very customizable
- Wireless Redstone with over 2 Billion diffrent Frequencies!

That with Mystcraft is xCompWiz fault. He just adds additional Lightning and darker Sky, but the "isThundering"-Function is not returning true...

And the 8192 EU/t is right, i just made a Typo.

What a nice addon, now you could add support for railcraft metal poles (for fancy looking Lightning rods ^^)
Actually, i would like to know how the chance is calculated ^^. [it is 1/268435456 every ? , or something different] {Ctrl + A}
LightningrodEnergy=8388608 -> change this to get X energy on every strike (8192*1024 by default)
LightningrodNeedsThunder=true -> change this to false to get lightningstrikeprobability without the need of thunderstorms.
LightningstrikeProbability=268435456 -> change this to get lower/higher chance of striking ( X < 100000 for infinite energy and fancy looking thunderstorm over your rod)

And how tower size makes difference. [If you send it by PM i won't say anything here]
I think i installed one of these at my Wind/Solar Ship, and that caused cloaking system damage.

No idea, i just used MCEDIT to place a fucking big amount of fences, and now im spamming lightning rods with it.

Thanks for the Report, the next Version (i will make it Saturday) will be Improved, with an additional GregoriusCore-Mod, which loads the Config for every future GregoriusMod/Addon. The Actual DefaultID is 125.
