Hey guys! Guess what! The Tekkit team released a secret link that shows the TPPI mod pack but with all mods updated to 1.8. If you click on the link below you can see all about it. It is in beta stage and the Tekkit developers say that it "may be unstable, back up world before proceeding". If you want to discuss it post your thoughts here!

Neither of those are actually updated, they just compile successfully. That's like saying you're the CEO of a company because you walked through the door once. -

There IS forge for 1.8: http://files.minecraftforge.net/fml/1.8
False, that's FML, not Forge. Two completely different beasts. One loads mods while the other ensures compatibility between mods.
Forge requires FML, so you won't be seeing Forge for a long time.

Who knows if we'll even see 1.8 forge? I know there's more modders then me that are cool with sticking in 1.7.10.

I don't think they'd be that stressed if they suddenly didn't have to spend weeks/months updating Forge. Most mod devs might have a few complaints though.
