...And i have to say its quite intimidating (Not the setting up part , but what comes after that). I have a newfound degree of respect to the people who mess with stuff like this on a daily basis.

Now even though i have no idea what im doing, i will sooner or later makes some sense out of this thing. Let us hope its sooner rather than latter. Off i go to not see the light of the sun for a week or two.

Quite honestly, i got kinda overwhelmed by the amount of code and classes in there that i have only read it. Maybe one of these days i may code something for minecraft (Already have some ideas in the oven but i need to understand that shit so i do it right XD)

I have decompiled IC² a few months ago, but i ignored all the Errors, because i just wanted to see the Code.

Now i have made everything like described in the Step-by-Step-Manual of Forge and get the following after installing Forge to MCP. Can i ignore this without Problems on recompiling?

Nein, i believe that if you get errors recompiling you need to fix those otherwise minecraft could crash.

Errors Decompiling are ignorable but you will need to fix them at the moment of the recompile too i believe.

I tried to decompile IC² (Modloader, Forge and IC² into Jar before decompile) and got many Errors (Even after deleting all the Integrationfolders), does anyone know how to decompile IC² properly, so that i can make a Bugfix-Pack (to hack-fix E-net-movement with Frames, Deploying Wires and such Stuff).

The Forgesource and the downloadable IC²-API itself, are not causing any Errors, so that i can add only simple stuff to IC².

Does anyone know, how to fix that Error with the Modloader and it's Generic Variable "T"? Its the only one i got with the Forgedecompiler.

P.S. I already read http://forum.industrial-craft.…?page=Thread&postID=42012 for help, but its a bit depricated

I got finally the SSP-Part of IC² compiling (after i hacked half of the Classes, and IC² is now no longer playable, because ic2.common.Energynet is missing), so in Theory i can compile an Addon for IC², but i will see that later, in the upcoming 5 Days long Weekend.

I can't help but ask, Isn't that the whole point of the API? So you don't need the source code in the first place?

I've also tried a hand at modding, and I've found x2Robbie2x's videos on the topic really useful. I'm eagerly awaiting IC2 1.96, I have a good idea for a crop-card (not too-difficult looking a task) or two, but I don't want to have to download the API multiple times.

It helps a lot, when you have also the Source of IC², especially when you are trying to make an Addon for IC². Also my moddingattempts are requiring more, than an API could give to me.

An API its just a set of hooks and tools the Devs gave you so you could make mods following what they wanted to.

But if you have the Source, you can do so much more than just adding recipes to the various machines or making crop cards or just adding a new block to the e-net.

Ah, I see now. Like I said earlier, I haven't really gone into anything resembling complex mods before.
