The current gui for the reactor is good it simple but it would be helpful it it had a temperature monitor or something there so you can tell exactly how hot it is and how fast the heat is being generated as it would makes things a lot easier as you can really tell if your layout that you have made works as the current way you don't know until it is to late as when it on fire or exploded.
Another thing that would be good and helpful is if you could attach buildcraft water/liquid pipes to the reactor as this could make cooling it a lot easier at time but of course it would not be as effective as coiling cells so you would still need cooling cells it just the water pipes can assist in the cooling and it would open a lot of new ways of creating your reactors.

Stable reactors are already very easy to build, especially with the reactor planner tool, and the reactor having a chance to blow up is just one part of the fun. For the water pipes->reactor, it isn't a very good idea as casuc-reactors are quite easy to build and either it would be ridiculously OP or just plain useless.

The difference between CASUC and simply Water piping its pretty herpy derpy if you don't notice it.
With Casuc you need a whole factory to produce enough Ice/Water Buckets to keep your reactor happy.
With Water piping its "Hurr Durr Pipe Here, Water There gogogogoggog dahhhhh", or something along those lines.
