  • Dude, I'm (in)famous for not caring about other peoples opinions. Without that I would just be some other Mod Author. Opinions are irrelevant, Facts are the only important thing. One of the reasons Democracy always ends up shitty.

A bit of encouragement never hurt nobody. Positive mindset and shit.

democracy doesn't produce shit, it produces neither great nor really bad results, but usually acceptable ones.

Native language german, please point out mistakes to me. forget it, my english is better than that of a good deal of people on the forums anyway.

It produces compromises, which are mostly lose-lose situations. I'd call that shit. Anyone who actually pays attention to politics knows how much shit is actually going unnoticed. Whenever there is "Opinion > Fact" there is shit going on, and that happens way too often.

Wait, Greg, as far I remember you were the socialist type? Like all democratic and shit?

  • I|m pretty sure that he is not fond of dictatorships and nationalism, as earlier he called me a nazi^^

Just because the Nazis happened to have a Dictatorship, doesn't mean that all Dictators are Nazis. A well led Dictatorship (never happened before) is much better than any Democracy could be, since Democracy always includes stupid people, while a Dictatorship only depends on the abilities of a small (and hopefully well selected) group of people.

What would be a good way to explain it a bit further... ahh I know. In Sim City (or in Cities Skylines, which seems to be a much better Game from all the LPs I watched while working on GT) there is one person planning out all the things with the best intentions. The skill of said person either creates a good or a bad City.

In real life there is a clusterfuck of thousands of people who have to decide every little thing, resulting in chaos and failure, see that Airport Berlin tries to build since years, or anything that gets built in that City, or to be more precise, nothing gets built at all, because of the people living there complaining about how new Buildings obstructing their oh so beautiful panorama of ugly asbest Houses everywhere.

If you want to see a good dictatorship, then why not take an example at Star Wars. Palpatine, while being a Sith Lord, was still good to the people inside his own Empire, as long as they were peaceful and didn't rebel or something stupid like that, they were able to do whatever they did before the Empire too. The normal citizens did not have to fear the Empire, the only thing bad about the Empire was the "Taking over the Galaxy"-Part, and that was mostly done by Clones (after the first clone rebellion they changed it from "Just Jango Fett" to a more diverse selection, and they added normal Troops aswell as Droids). They didn't kill their own people in masses for no reason, like the Nazis did.

  • You expect too much of people Greg, power is a fun thing, and most (if not all) dictators get other people to do stuff and actually do very little themselves. Not that the dictator trying to do stuff means it'll go any better, see Hitler's war plans of never retreat, never avoid the Red Army etc.

145 Mods isn't too many. 9 types of copper and 8 types of tin aren't too many. 3 types of coffee though?

I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realise that what you read was not what I meant.

I prefer the communist Federation in Start-Trek.
Now once you add humans to any equation (government/organization) it is all fights for compromise. There is never same facts, same expectations and then same mean of achievements for every individual. And even single persons tend to fight themselves with conflicting expectations.
In the end it turns out as choices. Each and every neurons ticking into living entities have to make choices. More neurons → more complex and various choices.
Now intellectual laziness make people seek less choices, less risks rather than rationalize/factorize. This is why people are tempted by dictatorship.

  • my point was, with democracy sou won't get good results, but you'll get relatively stable kinda working results. with dictatorship, everything depends on the dictator, so if you get a bad one, nothing to do about it. democracy is bound to be working a lot longer than dictatorship simply because total failure is less likely.

  • Hello Greg, could you please make glowing green liquid radioactive wastes that would apply radiation poisoning on touch? You can use lava texture and animation with shifted colours!

  • oh, and serious offtopicness going on here, i just notice, this thread isn't really intended for political discussions, is it?

  • Yes, just imagine villagers protesting every time you try to build nuclear reactor nearby.

(real life) you could show them the benefits of nuclear power... it's much better than coal.
With a coal powerplant you put a lot of carbon dioxide in the air, with a nuclear power you put nuclear waste in the ground so who is going to complain? the moles? the worms? (I don't think they live that deep in the ground though)
And secondly why won't we use the heat produced by nuclear waste?

  • Greg I've collected some log for you:

    1.
A GregTech.lang_[...].errored created every time Minecraft starts: http://pastebin.com/EUDr7xJ5

    2.
While looking at the console I've came across this, however there is not more Information and the logs don't contain this: http://pastebin.com/m5c2GC2g

Oh and just for completion I've attached the actual log Files which I think are unnecessary.

Or you could build concetration camps as one is more or less doing for using golem iron farms or villager trading/multiplication. ;)

Your Link fucked up my Quotes. And where the hell is your Config Folder? Did you make the Root to a Config Folder or what? This only happens when it cannot get the Parent Directiory of the Config Folder.

And that Link did so too... This is an Error of Thaumcraft itself somewhere, maybe try only IC², GT and TC in a Setup to see if it still happens.

Oh great now you got me to the conclusion that Villagers are the Jewish Stereotype with their Money and their Noses, damnit!
