Is the name Loreley (or Lorelei, as it's usually spelled) related to the Rhein? I'm aware it's not a new name, though I can't tell where it originates from.
Yes it belongs to the Rhein. Back in my days we had to learn some poems at school for no reason, the Lorelei was one of these, and as of everytime we had to do such stuff, I just didnt even try to memorize these useless things no matter in which grade that resulted (I just remember the title and that rhein stuff due to the teacher always talking about it for that one week, and due to the fact that it just got mentioned here, semi-aidetic Memory ftw).

The whole demoness being Cyra was quite obvious, I guessed it at the first point where she's written about. Especially after reading TDC and The Warden.

I suppose so. I intended to make it obvious to those who knew TDC beforehand. I even considered not writing that last page all-together (or at the very least not calling names).
Actually, till the very end, I wasn't sure how I wanted to end the story. Options were the current ending, an alliance between those two and the third one would have been Loreley's defeat. But the current ending fits the global plot much better. Though it's a pity to lose such an amusing and unpredictable character as her... At least for the timeline after the story, as I've mentioned there are a couple of storys that play chronologically before, but have yet to be written.
Btw, I'm surprised you drew a connection to the story 'The Warden'.
