Scaffolds is more effective than coal+creosote, especially since creosote as fuel was nerfed. Not to mention that this setup makes ~2 wood per second, so it would require dozens of coke ovens to keep up.

I do not expect that the developers will change back. I could do it myself, or anyone else who knows JAVA. I do not think that this will have to reprogram all of the code, but just to make a change in a particular place. Or am I wrong?
Actually, you don't need to alter reactor code or even use reactor API to re-implement CASUC. You just need to make a machine that "recharge" coolant cells, using water. -
I think "secondary" solars should be placed and removed automatically, when "primary" solar is placed. So, it's very much like compact solar, but with "fair" space requirement. You place it, it "unfolds" and start working. Or don't if there is not enough space around.

Lol, you need just one single Redstone-Repeater to fix a Sand-Dupe-Machine.
I could not make reproduce it. Can someone tell me in plain written English how exactly should I piston sand for it to work? -
Most useful quantum piece is leggins by far, with boots second. Helmet was nice, before it got bugged, and bodyarmor is only useful for lava swimming and fighting hordes of mobs..
Less than 5 minutes to find it, just wander near a swamp or forest. Unless you are very unlucky and spawn in a snow biome.
As if, it can take game days easily. And if you play huge biomes and/or came late on active server... -
I think my record is 2 days if i play non stop vanilla IC2, i wonder how quick somone could get it with EE2 though?
With EE2? Hard to say, it greatly depends on how fast you will find rubber saplings. -
I think scrap would be bottleneck. Energy can be produced relatively fast by nuclear.
-
As for what to use for scrap generation, I suggest scaffolding.
Scaffolds, sticks, snowballs and window panes do not generate scrap. Most you can get from wood in recycler is when using wooden slabs. -
You can check if a Block at XYZ has Sunlight or not. Not only the TileEntity, with the Sun shining on it.
Is it possible to "cubscribe" to messages each time block is placed or removed at certain box (or certain chunk)? -
Is check done each tick? It can be replaced with checks at random moments, increasingly more rare after placement.

So, I can't make diamonds without diamonds?
-
NEI? Changelog? Try the Mortar, its crafted out of a Bowl and a Flint and can macerate one Ingot/Coal if its not too hard for Flint.
Is it supposed to give hydrated coal? -
You can make Coaldust without Macerator. I made a Lowtech-tool for macerating some Ingots and Coal.
Great, but how am I supposed to know about it? -
This mod breaks more than it gives. One of good points in IC2 is that you can make diamonds from coal, co you can start teching earlier, instead of boring vanilla-style mining. With Gregtech macerator recipe requires diamonds, so you can't make coal dust for making diamonds, forcing you spend hours pickaxing.
So far only really interesting thing I can see in this mod is Quantum Chests, but I doubt it worth losing half of IC2. -
Based on my (very rough) calculations, UU ROI of wind gen is below two days. So, if you start with 16 wind gens, you will have 64x64 in couple of weeks.

I haven't much (read:any) experience with mass geothermals. How long can 1000 eu/t geothermal factory work, before it sucks all lava around?
-
How do you have problems working with windmills?
I have placed more than 10000 windmills and i rarely have to use a wrench (once or twice every four towers [256 windmills])
Well, you are windmill expert, and I am not:) I often found that I did something wrong and have to move transformer, or remove some windmills from the top, or even move whole column. -
trying to give each material a individual "Price" for getting scrap, whenever its automatically decided or not.
Is it just your personal interpretation, or you are official mouthpiece of Alblaka now? -
This mod is about electric stuff and not magic. Including a diamond into your wrench is totally not going to make it any better in real life.
Somehow diamonds make MFE and MFSU better...
I personally can live with electric wrench but it makes working with windmills a pain sometimes (when you have to juggle lappack and jetpack) -
I have not much experience with EE, but from what i know, in end game EE and UU works nearly same way gameplay-wise. You find one way to maximize return and then spam it. I don't see much difference between mass cobble and mass blaze powder. ADR is what would actually make them different in endgame.
In early-mid game, of cause, difference between UU and EMC mechanics is significant (EMC is OP and recyclers are useless). But I don't see how ADR will make recyclers OP (or even useful) before endgame.
Only things that ADR adds is an incentive to be creative.
