Are the thick neutron reflectors damaged? That could be your problem-

Seems there is something messed up. What forestry version do you use? There where big changes recently and maybe i have to adapt.
There is nothing for me to fix. That was only forge that bugged and they fixed it in forge 1490. So just update forge. The "recommended" version is broken.
I use the newest forestry version 3.6.11.2
Uploaded GT 5.09.07
Fixed Steam turbine efficiency tooltip.
Fixed some misspellings.
Fixed Charcoal Pile issues (Large lag with huge piles, can now use all vanilla logs, multiple igniter per pile not possible anymore).
Added some more oil/plastic processing recipes.
Changed recipes of: Crop Havester, IC2 Reactor, IC2 RTG.
What is with breeding recipes for the GT bees? Those aren´t obtainable, right?
Should be fine to start one by now. Only expect that maybe some recipes change when updating, but nothing that breaks everything anymore.
So, all new machines are working now? That is cool.
Edit: And what is about the GT bees? For example, the Chrome queen is made by the chrome drone and the chrome princess. Same for all other GT bees.
Buildcraft uses RF, IC2exp uses EU. Use forestry electrical engine or the power converters mod to power RF-using machines from EU.
With a gas turbine, biogas is definitely worthwhile (mainly due to the high output ratio - 200 mB biogas per 10 mB IC2 biomass). However, I thought dohvakin96 wanted steam, and it's not clear whether IC2 biogas is usable in a GT large boiler (and if it is, how long a cell of it will last), since it isn't listed with the other fluids in post #4.
Biogas isn´t usable in the large boiler . I think I will build some gas turbines and power them with biogas from saplings and methane from apples.
I finally got around to measuring this. Using a 21x21 diamond-shaped multifarm (so 252 farmland blocks), running it for 20 minutes (1 minecraft day cycle) produced 158 apples, 335 apple oak saplings, and 492 oak logs. That's about 48.8 ticks per log. Presuming you're only cooking the logs into charcoal, and not using creosote or Forestry biomass, you'll need 1 log every 20 ticks. Presuming also that the effective speed of a multifarm goes up linearly with the total number of farmland blocks, extrapolation indicates you'll need about 614.6 farmland blocks. A "Large" multifarm (3x5x4 farm blocks) allows 660 farmland blocks, so it might be good for that.
Edit: there's more variation in the output rate of a multifarm than I'd realized. With a large multifarm (660 farmland blocks), in one 20-minute run I got 874 logs, then a different 20-minute run gave 1039 logs. I think I'd have to measure the multifarm for at least 3 real-time hours to get a usable average (and repeat for different sizes and/or sapling types), and I'm not interested enough to bother with that.
Thank you, I will try a large farm. And do biomass and creosote really provide much energy? I´m wondering if the creosote is worth building 90 coke ovens.
I've never measured the speed of Forestry multifarms at different sizes, but it might be easier for others to help you if you specify what kind of trees you plan to use (or if you plan to use a different farm configuration, such as a peat bog), and how you'll be processing the output of the farm (e.g. vanilla furnaces or Railcraft coke ovens).
Of course. I want to use oak woods and I´m processing the wood with railcrafts steam ovens.
Speaking of tinkering arround...I have a huge problem with Multiblocks in this Mod. Maybe i missed something (ingame instruction?)But i think, a layer by layer instruction would be very nice. It doesn t have to be IE fancy like, but a simple handbook ingame would be very good....
All multiblock have a small handbook in the description, the fusion reactor has one in the GUI. Or you could take a look at the wiki.
There is no 1.8 Ic2 version. Use 1.7.10
Do you already have a list of the machines that will produce pollution?
I understand that boilers and furnaces (coal only?) will.
Gas and Oil generators will do as well, I assume?
I am curious if the only source will be burners.
If items couldn't be so easily discarded, Radioactive and heavy chemicals waste management could be kinda of interesting...
Could work like the nuclear waste of reactor craft, the waste doesn´t despawn, gives you radioactivity effect and you have to store it in a special drum, until it decays. Would make nuclear power less OP.
Just curious:
From where you guys get all that Chrome to the Fusion Reactor? Redstone Centrifuging?
Well, yes. Redstone veins contain redstone and ruby ore. Ruby ore has chrome as byproduct. Use advanced miners or quarries for it. You will need a few veins, but it is the best way. Or you add a chromite veins, but that would be too easy
You´re using MC version 1.7.2? Use MC 1.7.10 as well as the 1.7.10 versions of all your mods. Your version was released ages agp.
Display MoreI have really enjoyed the power progression in GT:U and look forward to the planned changes.
I limited my pre-LHE steam to the Bronze and LV era, used Fuel in the MV era, steam-less Fission the HV era, LHE (steam) in the EV era, and am using Fusion in IV and beyond.
I wouldn't mind a simple option in a config file to enforce this progression by, for example:
- removing Advanced and Turbo Steam Turbine
- removing Turbo Diesel Generator
- prevent LV Transformer from up-transforming to MV
- prevent MV Transformer from up-transforming to HV
- prevent LV and MV Battery buffers from accepting lower-tier power
This would make spamming Railcraft or GT Steam Boilers much less attractive. Tree farms for steam power would also be far less attractive as a long-term solution. As a bonus to prevent tree farm-powered Large Steam Turbines, one might restrict/limit the kind of steam accepted by the normal Large Turbine to the steam produced by the LHE only. But, that might going a bit too far for some.
And, since not everyone would enjoy such a forced progression, a config option is probably best.
I´m not sure, but couldn´t you just set the efficiency of advanced and the turbo steam turbine and the efficiency of the turbo diesel generator to 0? It would be practically removed, if you do so.
