Best Reactor (effective eu/t)?

  • so.. you wish to maximize the effective EU/T... i see no other option then to go CASUC,
    this setup:
    http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…ay=1k10101001511621s1r11r

using advanced machines (addon) and rp2

you wil run the reactor like this. snow gollems make snow, right? the basic coolant for all ur needs. (after some refining ofcourse)

set up and system like such: snow gollem - block breaker (at his feet) - singularity compressor - retriever - personal safe (main storage of your ice!) - retriever - reactor.

this ensures the max posible EU/T and effectively generates an bit over 1750 EU/T (the compressor consume 67 EU/T)

good luck, if you want an example. look at the video in my signature.

    right, time to get serious...
i wil be offline for weeks and possibly months at an time. if you have anything to add to an post i made, and would like me to know. you are welcome to pm me, and i wil reply as soon as i am able to do so.

  • Your link is same as Lunigar's.
Also OP said "without burning up any part". If ice blocks and water buckets are considered parts, then CASUC in not an option, since it's based on "burning up parts".
In that case, dezuman's design is probably best you can get.(The one Lunigar posted. I use it too.) IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE ! (Mark II)
Edit: Obviously, i didn't see "Don't care about efficiency".

  • I spent about 10 min on this without looking at any other designs. I wonder how these work:

(Effectively no cool-down (won't work for automated, but you want no mods so cooldown is within human work time))
    http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…=1k10101001501521s1r11r10

Or this (more expensive, BUT perfectly 100% uptime capable):
    http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…=1k10101001501521s1r11r10

Both output 100eU/t during operation, have eff 1, and 6 chambers.

There's still 13 cooling, which means it might be possible to displace something somewhere... but I honestly doubt it'll be very easy.

(PS, are these links broken for you, or did I just mess up java for chrome?)

    • Official Post

Only slightly less expensive than the ones you posted, but some of the coolant cells you had in your second design weren't necessary:

    http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…=1k10101001501521s1r11r10

I know it doesn't make much of a difference at all, what's 13 coolant cells compared to everything else, but hey.

Modified version of yours with less HD's and more coolant cells...

Lesson 1: Watch over your crops....

  • Making 1 eff reactors is fun but not very realistic because you wont be able to keep them running without lots of breeders and lots of babysitting. Try this one instead:
http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…=1k10101001501521s1r11r10 (note: this may not be the best design yet)

94,17 eu/tick output at 2,5 eff. It can run well over 11 cycles in a row with only 10 min cd between the cycles. So thats almost a mk1 in reality. Now if you want more eu output just build 2 of these thats still cheaper than making a ton of breeders that you would need to keep a 1 eff running.

*snerk* oh look... it's mr. troll again.
"lots of breeders and babysitting"? I've got a 100% automated rector in SMP just fine. Just needs a few tubes , a couple RP2 machines and a timer.

  • Yes, but if you're going RP2 machines (or BC) then you may as well just go CARUC/CASUC reactor and get your money's worth.

That one's sexy. I like that
And i know i said i didn't care about efficiency, but holy christ guys O.O

Exactly why did you had to make such a post? Pls post why you think my post was a troll post...

I do realise he didnt care much about eff but if it is possible to get good eff and high eu output why not? Besides with higher eff it means you can run more reactors at the same time without increasing uranium consumption thus increasing eu/tick.

Because you are a troll. You made broad, sweeping statements like your the world's expert on everything and ignore any evidence to the contrary.

and risk a giant crater? hell no. I only build Mk 1 or 2 reactors and if this thing's going to be running for extended periods of time i'm sticking to Mk. 1
This thing runs under a chunkloader block on a SMP server. Some stuff behaves a bit differently when i'm not actively there. (it shouldn't, but it does)

    ok fuck off troll

  • hey rick, calm down dude. no need to get into rough language.
