  • Well I just learned something cool that turns minecraft on its head. Apparently all of the coal on the Earth was formed at the same time ( geologically speaking ). 360 million years ago plants figured out how to make lignin which is what makes wood hard. It took fungi 60 million years to figure out how to break lignin down, so for 60 million years, the dead trees just piled up and formed coal. After fungi figured out how to break it down, no more coal formed. So all over the earth, all of the coal is in this one geologic layer. None above or below that. Not scattered all around like in vanilla minecraft.

Except the earth's crust isn't static and stuff moves around.

Generally anything in the ground comes in sheets or huge clusters. Default Minecraft doesn't do that for simplicity reasons, but mods like GT or TFC do it.

And while I don't see at all how that was related to the thread, #TeamTrees

EDIT: Caveat: Remember planting trees does nothing if they don't get to stay there.

  • So any word on why my redstone vein has magnesite and gold in it rather than ruby ore?

The Redstone Veins dont have Ruby in it anymore since ages. The Ores are like they are, maybe look somewhere else for what you are looking for.

So Ruby Ore still spawns in the new layer system, just not with redstone anymore? Good to know. I ended up making it with the crystallisation crucible. And then I found you need a level 4 wrench to move the implosion compressor, so I finally ended up trying out the HSS-E since it's just as good as tungstensteel but dilutes it with other things, and all of those but the chromium I don't have much use for. It also says it has sharpness IV so I guess that's what I'm making my next sword out of instead of blue steel.

  • I hope someone can suggest a solution for several problems.

    1. When generating a world using "WorldBorder" or "Chunk Pregenerator", after a while the server simply freezes and does not respond to any commands. Only sends messages about congestion (if I understand them correctly)

    2. After the generation of the world, when you first visit a section of the world with a large amount of water (ocean, swamp ...), it freezes as if generating a piece of the world

    3. The server crashes at startup when the QwerTech mode is installed. I just can’t understand the reason ... As if swearing at Forge. Everything works in the client. Only the server crashes.

Server core: Thermos 1614 build ver.57 - GT6 mechanisms do not disappear for no reason, and friends connect to me without any problems.

The server is not for some project, but just for playing with friends.

I will still try a few ideas for a solution, but if anyone helps, I will be grateful))

  • 1. I would need more Details on that.

    2. Yeah, I was trying to cut back on Worldgen Lag by letting Oceans generate over time and only generating the top Layer of Ocean.

    3. And yet another thing I need to tell Qwerty about that he should fix for fucks sake. can you give me the Stacktrace of that Crash?

As for Thermos, I do not think that anything would work with it. There is many problems it caused with GT6 in the past. If you are just playing with Friends, then why do you need Thermos?

  • I can provide information in 8 hours only.

I use the server, as I use several plugins for convenience, and Thermos v.57 turned out to be the most stable: friends connect without problems, and the TileEntity GT6 do not disappear, as it was on KCauldrone.

I don’t know about other alternatives to Cauldrone / KCauldrone / Thermos that support plugins and mods.

  • QwerTech error with which the server does not start. Information from the log - crash-report is not created:
    https://pastebin.com/3aW6ip08

hat I meant is which Plugins do you even use? Do you even need them?

Automatic saving of the world helps prevent the loss of progress, and the appearance of uninvited guests in the form of a creeper is privatized))

Here are the plugins that I use:

    • AutoSaveWorld
    • MyHome
    • PermissionsEx
    • Residence
    • Vault
    • WorldBorder

As for the generation of the world, I can report in a few hours.

If memory serves me right, then in the message about server load there was a mention of a huge number of active TileEntity.

  • Okay try to fix the Issue by disabling the QwerTech Recipe replacer, that will probably help.

As for TileEntities uh yeah they are not active but GT6 does have every Ore Block as a non-ticking TileEntity. Not to mention the Ocean Blocks which are normal Blocks but have this scheduled update thing on them.

    It worked! Many thanks!

The error was obvious, but I did not look at the configuration, believing that everything should work by default.

  • Still trying to find my way around GregTech earlygame. Didn't expect to be able to just craft nuggets into ingots, somehow.

But I don't understand how mining works. I think it does the TFC route of very few very large ore veins that you have to find?

But how do you find the knowledge to find them? In TCF prospecting was a thing.

Also are hostile mobs not supposed to spawn? I have not seen any.
