This forum's security measures are overkill

It's needed to reduce the amount of spambots that come to the forums and there may be more security in the registration to come to insure less spambots.
It's not needed however because everyone loves spambots spamming kitchen threads everywhere (sarcasm). -

Did you get your isp conected ok?
Figured out how to use links yet?
A small suggestion for a new internet user such as yourself, try IE for a while but seriously look into one of the other browsers Chrome is good as is Firefox.Sorry if you are not a new internet user but you are definitely looking like one, this forums registration process is pretty standard in fact I'd say it's one of the easier ones can't remember if they had a captcha or not but most do.

It's a one time thing. You create an account and never need to register again..
so i don't see any problems with that at all. -
Wait, there are forums that don't require activation to post? Seems pretty standard to me.

Who let that Bot in!?! (right under this Thread)

what bot are you talking about?

The one I reported. Thanks for deleting it, but implying that that Bot never exist, is not a Way of solving a Problem.
-
Uh, isn't the activation just an email like every other forum?
-
I appreciate your views regarding spam bots. But every person who drops link in guest forum is not necessarily spammer. Sometimes that person try to help others with provision of some exciting share worthy stuff.

I don't particularly care. I thank my IRC bot when it does something for me, too. It makes /me/ feel better, even if the 'bot can't appreciate it.
