Psa: We Need More Moderators!!!

  • I'm sure most of you are aware that the forum has become overrun with spambot activity in the last few days. At the moment, it appears that SpwnX is the only moderator that has been online lately and he only has any power in the suggestions thread. If Player, RichardG or anyone who has the power to do something sees this, we need more moderators in threads, especially the texture packs. david668899 has been posting nothing but links to a website where you can download mods (a place I personally don't trust) and minecraft16 who (In AEST) between 4:15 and 6:10 PM posted 85 posts about mods and textures. THIS HAS TO STOP otherwise the forum will be nothing but spambot posts. I'm even willing to do the job if it means that this stops. I know you guys are working on your mods at the moment, I fully understand that, which is why I'm asking for more people who aren't busy with mods development to "step up to the plate".

    Thank you for your time

  • I'd like to sign up for moderator, especially removing spambot posts and/or banning them, etc.

I'm not busy at all and have nothing to do when I come here.

  • I'm now a global moderator, however, i'm still not able to ban spambots (wasn't able to find any option regarding that, if there is one).
Also, i don't know how to move posts :3

  • I can be a modder if needed. I live in gmt +2 and are online a lot

I have some experience from being admin on (now dead) shadowpriest.com for a few years.

  • If SpwnX needs help with getting rid of spambots I think he would be trying to rank people. IC2 team has it covered.

I was just thinking, is there a way of utilizing the server for the forum to blacklist certain IP addresses? That could help because a good portion of spam activity is centered on a small number of addresses.

An update : I'm now able to ban spambots (and, therefore, users).
