so...what does one do AFTER one glows in the dark...along with a rather large swath of land?

Iridium Rotors don't make a ton of sense, it would probably be too heavy to spin.
But if it DOES spin, it would have a lot of energy stored in its movement. You would just have to get the enrgy out of that...
Its not like the steel blades are light too. (real life ones)
Iridium ones would likely spin slower, but would carry the same amount of energy.
They wouldn't spin slower, they would just take longer to accellerate.
The wind puts the same amount of power into the rotors, but iridium is heavier, and thus a certain speed equals more energy --> same energy equals less speed.
Yes. Speed after a certain time that is. The end speed it gets for t -> infinity is the same though.
if you don't consider resistive forces, indeed.
something something weight on bearings something something friction something something static friction to start moving.
If you don't consider resistive forces, there is no end speed. (It would speed up infinitely)
but the faster you move, the higher the friction. if the wind has trouble accellerating the blades already, it won't manage to speed them up further earlier than if the blades are lighter.
Would the Iridium rotor break the windmill?
Most likely.
But then again: Wouldn't a block of stone normally fall down?
I know of two mods that say otherwise out of my head. That vanilla isn't realistic doesn't mean mods can't be.
It would be fun to have exploding iridium rotors so people waste their materials
That would just be rude. With iridium being the hardest material to get in vanilla IC2. With diamonds, it would also be fun, but then again, a diamond rotor wouldn't make any sense and wouldn't be half as heavy. But it would be gone, when it gets hit by a lightning bolt.
Yeah, it would be pretty mean. So I'm not going to make one
So you also mean, it's mean.
yeah, i mean that he means that being mean is pretty mean, because it would be mean. i mean.
I made a set up to convert water into distilled water using the steam generator to get overclockers faster. I also expanded my Pahoehoe lava storage tank for it to be able to keep up...
You *might* consider using tanks with a higher fluid density than buildcraft tanks.
EDIT: for higher fluid density, and so you don't have towers going to y 256.
