My friends and I wanted to play with mods but it seems that the server files for the 1.2.3 stuff are gone. Does anyone have a copy so I can stop pulling my hair out trying to find one?
Does anyone have a normal copy of the 1.2.3 minecraft_server.jar file?

I think I have one with modloader mp, the forge, and that server fix thing.
Not sure if I have any more mods directly installed into the server files, I don't really keep track of my jar file mods.Edit: You know what they need, a minecraft server nostalgia!

Out of luck, there's no mcnostalgia for servers...
-
Is too! http://project.adshi.net/minecraft/versionchanger/
Well, it isn't MCNostalgia. But it downgrades the client/server.

I have one with modloader mp and forge 57 if you still looking for one

I am desperately searching for the 1.2.3 server .jar as well. If it already has modloader and forge that is fine. I plan on running a server with IC2, BC, RP, Advanced solars, and possibly more, so I would need modloader and forge anyway. If you can upload it and send me a link I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Gonna pipe in and mention that distribution of minecraft jars is a violation of Mojangs' ToS...
...`jus sayin'.
-
Seriously though, I gave you a freaking link to a program that will download any version of the client/server

Gonna pipe in and mention that the server jar is freely downloadable from minecraft.net, and would not be a violation of Mojangs' ToS...
...`jus sayin'.edit: the jar would probably be a better idea... https://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/launcher/minecraft_server.jar

Only if you provide a link from the official minecraft.net site, any other method its in violation of the ToS. Server Jar only of course. Client Jar its a No-No in all angles.

Mind quoting the exact ToS line in this regard? I'm actually as well considering the server.jar to be redistributeable freely.

Do not distribute anything we've made. This includes, but not limited to, the client or the server software for the game. This also includes modified versions of anything we've made. Also, you may not resell any gift codes or licence keys - but of course you can give gift codes as gifts. This is necessary so that we can help stop piracy and fraud - and especially users buying keys that have been fraudulently obtained.

In a court of law you can state that you downloaded the server.jar from the Minecraft website for FREE when it was available. And they have no way of checking.
Therefore, your free to redistribute without worrying about any consequences. The worst that can happen is a site admin requests you take the content down.
And let me guess.....the only reason you want 1.2.3 is because of redpower? yes....me too

Here is a link to the MUCH more popular/reliable minecraft version changer:
http://download.cnet.com/Minec…3000-2242_4-75628770.htmlThis software worked really great for me. I needed 1.2.3 as well as 1.2.4 came by before I realized all my favorite mods were up to date, so by recommendation on the minecraft forums I tried this out. Simply select the version of Minecraft (or server version) you are interested in. Then, either select "Change" which will downgrade your install of minecraft to the desired version, or select "server download", which will download a minecraft_server.jar for the selected version into the folder of MVC.
FYI, I noticed that with the post 1.1 minecraft, you can't use the standard java .bat file. If you look up on the forums, there is a new recommended way to expand the memory. My server wouldn't start with the original batch file, giving an infinite loop of sv.a errors (or something like that) and such.

MVC is also a common name for malware, I personally don't trust it because of that.

First off how do they prove you downloaded anything from their site as you need no login information to download the client or server?
-
do you stil need one?
ive got one of those laying around.

I think some of you are missunderstanding, the rule/term of use applys mostly to the people distributing illegally the jar, not to the people who download it (Because as someone said it is a difficult thing to prove).
