Sorry, but the draggon is the onliest mob, which is always there and always visable.

Keep inventory command is /gamerule keepinventory true

Don't forget that 1.4 is supposed to be the Mod API. So it's likely that it will be a "big change".

Mod API. Meh who cares. It won't fit everyone's needs and stuff like Forge/FML will still exist as they did one version ago

I would say, that the mod api would likely make installation and distribution a littler easier, for the rest there is Forge
