It appears that there may have been an oversight with the new reactor code.
The Double and Quadruple Uranium cells seem to run out twice and four times as fast.
According to this thread:
[1.106] Reactor Components Summary
It seems its not just me, either.
Obviously its not a huge issue, but it does sort of make these cells useless.
I know that the system is done using NBT - data (whatever that is. Wow) and the damage values are just percentages, but that should mean the damage values are changing at the same rate regardless.
According to NEI, anyway, they aren't.
I've also run two reactors side by side, and the normal uranium cell appears to last much longer.
Even so, loving the new reactors.
P.s. There seems to be a fair few bugs, between E net ghosts and Reactor bugs. Personally, I wouldn't mind just a hotfix instead of a whole new release with new features.
Bug: Certain Reactor items running out too fast.

actually this bug for good and balance, placing 4 single cells will provide 4 times more energy then single 4x cell.

I would call that more of a major nerf than balance -
In 2 weeks of testing they missed that many bugs? Am i missing something here?
-
I bet the duration gets down every internal Uraniumpulse instead of every Reactortick, and that this only happens with 2 or 4 Cells, because its calling the same function like in normal 1 Cells, but 2 or 4 Times.

Out of curiosity, Did you craft the components from the crafting table or did you spawn them with NEI/TMI or Creative mode?
-
That's a good point, but it didn't help I'm afraid.
I just made a quad cell manually, and it still decayed at 4* rate.
I'm kind of annoyed I didn't think of testing it that way though. -
for the part of "didnt they test that" well that is hard, cause our test build was at 20 ticks/second to test faster.... you don't really see something like that there.
-
There ARE 20 Minecraft ticks in one second

There ARE 20 Minecraft ticks in one second
Presumably meant Reactor ticks (normally 1/sec), not Minecraft ticks :p
-
i did, sorry for not stating that as explicit.

Hmmm... I suspect I've missplaced a } there. Will be fixed.

And now you may spend two hours finding it.

Took me about 2 seconds to realize where it had to be, then I needed ~14 seconds to open the corresponding file in Notepad and move the }.
If you wrote the code and actually know how it works, sometimes it's just that easy
-
hey Alblaka! did you intend this?
-
no, its not intended that they even get coolded by the vent, and neither going on - values. it's being worked on.
