About Putting Ads

Alblaka once said that he considers putting Ads here, but then he seemingly forgot about it (or maybe decided against it).
-
Knowing our luck the ads would be a lot like the forum spam, randomly chosen, completely offtopic and untimately pointless.
I can see ads selling giger counters, gardening supplies, and shoddily constructed in china so called industrial machines. Most of all zero ads about anything PC game related.
-
Whith some advertisers you can choose what type of ad to put in your website so i don't think this could be a problem
-
With modern browsers, ads disappeared from the Internet many years ago so he must have realized it's useless to do that.

If that were the case, ad placing companies would have gone bankruptcy long ago, but we still see them everywhere... Like i read in a ad (Oh the irony?) Ads may very well be the one powering the entire internet.
-
Yes, the people new to the Internet must be keeping these companies alive. Poor them.
-
Poor ignorant fella, oh well they say ignorance is bliss.

I wouldn't mind a banner between the Forum Members and Chat bar and the recent version box. Seems to have some free space. More importantly, Alblaka and the team deserves the cash.
I don't use adblock, and never will. In my opinion it's stealing. The fee for using someone's website is putting up with the adverts. And if everyone didn't use adblock then there would be significantly less advertising (overdosing on adverts tend to drive away users, so websites would be more moderate and still be able to make ends meet).

You don't need ads to run a website Anyway, if you really insist in spending money, there is paypal.

You do need money for it though, Ads its just one way of getting that money.

I have a .com with one of the best host in the world, plenty of space and unlimited traffic for 5$ a month. I can cover that without putting annoying ads on it.
-
What part of "One way to gettting that money" you didn't understand?
-
In my opinion devs deserves to get money since they work alot on IC² and give it for free to us. Placing ads or using ad.fly is fair enough for me. [Except those ads that has auto pop-ups]
-
I don't use adblock in general, because it feels to me like stealing. When I watch YouTube videos, I don't skip the ads, because it generates more revenue for the people making videos. When there is an AdFly option, I always use it, even with Redpower.
Just my two cents.

I always see ads when i scoll over a specific word (Some of which would scare children, and at times, me)

I get it too, although MalWareBytes has not detected anything yet, I should probably look into what is causing it some time.

It's a virus. I got it too, on my old PC, and it was annoying as shit to get rid of. Had to full-override onto it's files and force-move them onto a thumb drive which I then wiped on my Mac. I'm sure a force delete would have worked too, but it was regenerating if you deleted certain parts, meaning i'd need to delete them all at once. -
A virus eh?...Its not dangerous is it? or is it only to get the creator revenue?

I would do a scan of your computer.
